**Queenslanders don't even realise they are a part of Australia.** They seem to think the world starts and ends with Queensland. Some day maybe they'll explore the world a bit. Or maybe I'm expecting too much of them.

One can only hope. When it does it can take the term ''unaustralian'' with it.

What is it about that word that offends you?

What does it even mean? Whatever i do in my life, i'll always be Australian. Acts that are frowned upon do not change ones nationality. Also, we only ever hear about what is unaustralian, how come nobody ever states what is Australian.

What the term unaustralian means is only in the mind of however uses it. What ever does unaustralian mean? Is not liking backyard barbeques, not liking cricket or footy , not owning a Holden? Could be anything.

I don't like the anthem
I don't like the flag
I don't like the fanatics supporting our sports stars with mindless chants
I don't like colloquialisms such as "straya" or "team Australia"

Sad to see this country embarrasses so many of you.

Ive seen you display this theme on this topic many times before so here comes my two cents worth…... You hate the flag that our diggers fought so gallantly under in WW2 (so you could sit there in relative peace and safety as you write on your keyboard in your slippers and your Sarah Hanson-Young for PM shirt as you sip on milk and cookies)and you hate our anthem that has inspired so many herculean successes by sporting teams over the years that seemed impossible but was inspired by "ANZAC NOT TREE HUGGING"spirit that stems from a love for our flag and anthem. But you do like where you live??? like Balmain or Newtown and the fellow tree humpers that are very happy cause of the exotic green stuff they smoke or the white powder that drips from their noses.Very ironic that you say you get called unaSTROYAN cause you and those think like you are doing your greenie best at deSTROYAN every little thing that makes Australia Great.Sounds like next time u get called unAustralian you better stand up and listen pal cause comin from a guy who unlike you couldnt care less about political correctness I will tell you if there was more like me and less like you in Australia we wouldnt have so many people who thinks its totally fine to disrespect the flag whenever their lazy ass wants to cause if it werent for the Anzacs, diggers and others that have shown great aSTROYAN spirit you would be speaking japanese or german right now and the Wests Tigers would never of been youd be watching Jumbo Ozaki in the sumo as you washed the toes of the emperors uncle in a slave labor camp.FACT.The thread title reads Aussie Aussie Aussie OI OI OI so despite your best little efforts to hijack the thread with anti Aussie sentiment suck up some of that GREEN and GOLD nectar pal and if you dont want to may I politely suggest Saudi Arabia for you and your tree huggin pals.

flags, anthems, patriotic songs are layered with history and symbolisms. i find it hard to dislike them when you know the meaning behind them.

however, i do agree with some. i hate blind and over the top patriotism. imo these things are about showing respect and celebrating whatever country we live in.

Agreed. And just as you hate blind over the top patriotism I hate blind over the top Anti Australianism that seems far more prevalent these days with people who live here but spend the whole time saying(but not really wanting to cause they know the s***hole they left)that Australia sucks and they want to leave.Again as the thread title says Aussie Aussie Aussie OI OI OI.I would suggest that the over the top patriotism you dont like maybe a bi product of the thousands(mostly from a certain religion)who have not made the slightest effort in assimilation but have been helped along the whole way by those that are 1.from white anglo bleeding hearts civil lib types with no life skills or 2.from other migrants who have considered cash as king without zero thought for how there new country will be affected as they have dealt drugs, weapons and all other illegal devices with these gangs who have no interest in the Australian way.Fortunately number 2 is quickly changing as more and more migrants are coming out and preaching(and ten times more importantly)PRACTICING their love for this great nation sadly though there still seems too much of point one the docile "CLUELESS ON LIFE"Anglo saxon Australian on the extreme left of politics who would rather sign over every little thing that makes Australia great to the devil than lose political votes. Now whether you are Labor or Liberal I dont care as good and bad are found on both sides and I have voted Labor as much as Ive voted Liberal over the years but one thing that should never be compromised in the search for political votes is Australias national security. For those that agree with me and what I write on this topic please let it be known I feel very strongly Multiculturalism DOES work you only had to watch the socceroos tonight or Nick Kyrgios and co at the Australian open or write down a list of your five favorite meals or the five hottest girls you know and Im sure Multiculturalism is to thank. To defeat the extremists the loudest pro Australians voices we need to hear(and are hearing) are our more vulnerable migrants and let them scream at the top of their voices AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI.

Haha Flip you were asking for trouble and I think you've found it

Point of the thread well proven now

Be nice if we could grow up and ditch not only the flag but the Queen it kowtows to

She seems very unAstrayan to me

Queen I can understand but to me the flag has just too much significance to this nations past and present heroics maybe replacing the union jack portion of the flag may be fair enough one day but the southern cross must stay.Perhaps if the union jack was replaced by an anzac emblem that would be more appropriate.

National anthem is much better than the former God Save The King/queen, yet our current leader (of Team Australia) still thinks we should have him/her as our head of state. This white Anglo certainly does not agree and would certainly rather hug a tree than send our troops to fight in foreign lands on the back of lies he was complicit in creating.

The flag. Apart from looking the same as that of our friends across the ditch, even in the eyes of most of the respective inhabitants, let alone the rest of the world, WTF is that other national flag doing in the corner.

As far as serving, returned or lost veterans, and fighting under the flag goes, I can only speak on behalf of one. He landed as part of the ANZAC force on that first day in the Dardinelles nearly a hundred years ago now, and was awarded the King George medal during the campaign. Though he has been gone for some thirty years now, he thought the Union Jack on our flag should be replaced with the aboriginal one.

He also said that hatred breeds hatred, and that propaganda was the worst enemy, for all sides at the time. Never more appropriate in this day and age, where it is so easy for those wishing to use this tool to pedal divisive crap, can do it so easily with modern technology.
