Time to burn the stumps and bails , stick them in an urn and hold them for eternity even though they don't win them , sound familiar :roll

Smith should be sacked from the national side immediately ..
Then be forced to play for the Gladstone Brothers Cricket Club as further punishnent …

I think Gladstone Brothers CC is gone mate , keep up , anyone who is anyone plays for the Glen at the Happy Tiger Field of Excellence :roll

Is that the field with the extra large reinforced bench seats :roll

No that's the field at Penrith , thinks its known as Hobbo's House of Horrors CC

The one in Gladstone was built with 50 foot Perspex fences to attempt to stop the monstrous sixes some ex legend of the sport used to hit and stop the lusting , adoring fans from rushing the pitch :unamused:

What a joke. This has been blown way out of proportion. If we banned every ball tamperer from international cricket we wouldn't have any players left.

Ah well, at least both our national cricket team and national rugby league team are captained by cheats. After all we are a nation borne out of convicts!…...........

Lehmann was in on it for sure as well, he was looking VERY sneaky and seedy on the walkie-talkie telling the 12th man that the gig had been sprung and to get word out to Bancroft.

Lehmann, Smith and the pigmy ho-whisperer Warner need to go, they are the "brains" behind this shameful mess.

the leadership group wouldnt be sleeping well tonight.
steven smith may have a test batting average of over 60 and revolutionised a batting style but his career is done.
this issue will be as divisive as world series cricket was in the 70's.
the you now what will hit the fan in a big way.

Shouldn’t pretend like this is a first for Smith. Remember when he looked up to the dressing room for advice on whether or not to use DRS. He’s either a sneaky cheat, or is dumb as bricks.

Australia's holier than thou attitude has come back to bite them. All temas do it, Australia are just not very good at it.

Will forever put a stain on Lehman, Smith and any performance from the bowlers in the team.

Well it makes you wonder how long it’s been going on. Are the bowlers now tarnished?

The punishments are very soft for ball tampering, I would be surprised if anything more than a match free fine and Bancroft sits out a game.

I think cricket Australia may come down on Smith due to the public/media backlash. He has come out and said he orchestrated cheating not a good look for him or the game in Australia.

I'm not normally a 'hang 'em high' person but this is totally egregious behaviour. I would sack Smith and any other member of the leadership / coaching team who knew what was going to happen. I would suspend Smith and others who conspired for 3 years and suspend Bancroft for 1 year. I think it's time to draw a line in the sand and make it clear that the behaviour of the last two or three years is no longer acceptable. I love Australian cricket and like the game played hard but if any of my boys, who all played cricket, behaved this way I would tear strips off them.

This isn’t a simple case of one player working on a ball. This is a conspired effort by the Captain, VC and members of the coaching staff. There’s evidence to suggest Lehman was using Handscomb as a middle man on a two way.

its trial by media and the whole world will be watching acb's reaction.we can no longer query bowler's actions or stand in judgement of match fixing allegations when australian players have been caught,on international television,of cheating.

What a coward Smith was in the Presser. Asked to explain what the TV camera’s picked up, he turns to Bancroft, nods and says “wanna explain?”. Great leadership that.

This is absolutely disgraceful and embarrassing. I didn't think that we would see poorer judgment than that which was shown by Ashley Klein on Friday night for a long time, but we only had to wait a day and a half for it. For the first time ever, I am embarrassed to say I play cricket in Australia.
CA can't give out bans until a further investigation has been led, so we can see if Lehmann was involved, and who this 'leadership group' really involves, but when the results of that investigation are complete, the penalties must be extremely harsh for ALL involved.
This event imo is Australian sport's darkest day of the 21st century, and we must show the rest of the world that we won't tolerate this sort of ignominious behaivour now or ever.

What’s the difference between roughing one side of the ball up as opposed to shining one side? Moving forward all forms of altering the ball including shining one side should be outlawed.

It will be up to Cricket Australia to give any real punishment as we wont see much from the ICC just match fee and maybe 1 game.
