Ava Seumanufagai Re-Signs

Big, strong, and a hard hitter is our Ava. Good news he's signed with us again. One year is dissapointing but maybe the club can not afford to sign him for longer at this stage.

Great news! Wouldn't have thought I'd be saying this but I'd be happy to let Bodene go now. For all his upside I'd prefer Halatau along with the likes of Siro, Sita and Sue.
Really building a team this year!

Good news indeed….he aint going anywhere after 2015....A WT for a long time to come....**AND if Potter were such a bad coach these guys would not be sticking around...**

Or perhaps they have some inside info that Kidwell will be taking over the reins next year? We've got a lot of young Kiwis coming through and re-signing at the moment and I imagine that Kidwell would be someone that these guys would look up to. Pure speculation on my part, of course, but it just seems weird that these re-signings are taking place, one after another, during such a tumultuous time at the club with regards to the future of our head coach.

If Ava improves at the same rate he has improved from 2013 to 2014 he could be a massive plus in 2015

We probably just need to work on Ava's lateral movement in the off season

Good news and another positive shot in the arm which we sorely need at the moment. Hopefully Ava continues to improve next year and can stick around for awhile longer.

Think 2015 will be his last year with us, grooming Lodge & Graham to takeover from him.

If Ava fixes his lateral issues he could be anything for us

Has fantastic leg drive and size

You've never been a fan Milky , why ??

Disappointing its only for a yr.

x 2 … would have thought ava's efforts this season alone would have been worthy of at least a two year offer. but glad to read that ava is keen to stay on as weststiger.

Maybe it is Ava's preference too.

Sometimes cusp first graders like Ava commit to shorter deals, backing themselves to continue to improve and get a better deal in 12 months. He has gone from NSW Cup to consistent bench selection in that same period of time.

Probably, he thinks his performances will continue to improve, as they have done over the last 12 months UNDER THE CURRENT COACHING SYSTEM!

Doubt it. What if he does his ACL in the first game of the yr and he nothing secured for the following yr? He's been advised pretty poorly by his manager if so, cos you would think he'd want to get as much security as possible, especially when he's still trying to establish himself.

I don't see what others see in him, he isn't someone who will step up when the team needs him to eg. Woods, Gavet, Taupau…

I think it is the other forwards make him look bad, I rate Lodge as a much better player, the kid will be an amazing player one day and we are lucky to have Woods/Lodge.

I have to disagree with you on that one Milky. Woodsy steps up when we need it, Taupau is good for one bustling 40m run a game but Ava is consistent 10m+ output every hit up. Less downside compared to Taupau and Gavet in my opinion too. I'd have him over Gavet easily at this stage.
Haven't seen enough of Graham or Lodge to comment but I'd say if anyone goes it'd be Keith and/or Bodene. 2016 pack of Woods, Farah, Seumanufagai, Sironen, Akauola and Halatau, with a bench of Taupau, Gavet, Sue and someone else, maybe Santi or Brown depending on development.

I would rather have Ava ahead of Gavet in my team. Gavet is a loose cannon.
Lodge really what have you seen from him ? I thought Brown was more impressive.

I'm not keen on Sue at all.

Mate i'm not keen on Sue or Ava, maybe it is Gavet & Taupau making them look bad.

They don't look bad, not everyone can be star players.

Sue and Ava don't take a backwards step. And make plenty of meters after contact. Just what you want in your reserve forwards.
