Wests Tigers are pleased to announce a new partnership with Awabakal.

Awabakal is an Aboriginal, community-controlled health service which aims to deliver primary health care services and advocacy as well as social and emotional support.

As part of the new partnership, Wests Tigers will work closely with Awabakal to increase pathways for the junior development of Aboriginal players whilst also fostering a strong environment of education and engagement within the Indigenous community.

We seem to be doing some good things in the community, I guess there will be some that wont agree.

Yes. It i s good too see we have indigenous players for a change. Jimmy/laurie next year. We had Thompson there but i remember one year we had no indigenous players and it made me cringe when i seen our team wear the indigenous jerseys. Fancy wearing them and not having one representitive of that jersey.

When you say Thompson, are you referring to Corey?

Cheers, I never realised.

Excellent community work and one which will hopefully benefit the club and community in the long term.

We cope plenty but I doubt you’ll find any outlets giving us a hard time about our work in the community.

Wests Tigers are doing a lot of great community work now, which is helping a lot of social disadvantaged people feel more inclusive.
Great work from WT, Pascoe and all involved.

On a side note I seen a piece of Indigenous art work the other day, painted by Willian Bubba Kennedy it was one of the best I have ever seen.
Next time I see it I'll ask if I can take a photo of it and post it here.

Bringing community involvement into the club is such a positive.. the COE will be set in a community environment a win for all involved , have been impressed with the way our club has moved in this area ! Well done to all concerned .

Would like them to make 3rd party payments to a big name recruit, like the payments Inglis received at Souths.

Great initiative by the club, I’m a huge advocate of indigenous inclusion within society and very proud that the club I love has taken this step, keep it coming WT!!
