The one to Wade Mck against the Rorters ….was the greatest of the season so far....

Funny how you think one thing but the other is true . When I saw title I thought to myself that he does need glu remover but there you go . Another surprise today.

ayshford often seems to be able to get his hands (or the hand) carrying the ball free.

The same can be said about Bryce Gibbs and the number of penalties compared to other players he gives away

he offloads when its appropriate to offload..
there's not point passing it sometimes as it just puts the winger in a difficult situation..

in saying that, i havent heard anyone complain about ayshford not passing?

Don't worry mtd, you'll see it soon enough. There's a contingent here who believe he is a ball hog/doesn't pass, but our style of play pushes wide and our centres often end up quite close to the sideline and as a result it would squeeze the winger out over the sideline. He'd rather hold the pill instead of surrendering possession and field position. He's conservative and I can't fault that. Given the Izusu on legs in Utai is outside of him now, he may have a little more faith in his outside man to contest the opposition and not get taken dead.

Alf, yes statistics are as only as good as you make them, but the guy is in the top 20 odd offloaders in the NRL. It's hard to say he **never/rarely** offloads, because you'd be accusing the other 370 odd players underneath him (including 21 of his team mates,) of the same charge.

Offloading is not the same as passing. Sometimes I do think that he could attract a couple of defenders and then pass it to his winger. Most times he does make the right decision by not passing but sometimes he wants to take the line on himself by dummying and going when he could attract and pass. Thats the problem people are referring to in Ashyford, people have no doubts he can break a line and offload.

Not having a go at Ashyford or this thread. Ashyford, for me is atleast in the top 4 centres this year and he has right centre for Blues booked if he continues like this.
