Ayshford v. Lawrence as back-up five-eight?

When either are them are called upon with injuries, such as now with Siro. Who do you think should get the spot? Personally I think Lawrence is better, his Defence is oustanding! great speed and strength along with Ayshford, his passing game is als generally better. Just my opinion, what do you guys reckon?

I would personally prefer Moltz.
His position is five-eighth and can play there which could also see Beau move to fullback, and we all know what happens there.
In saying that, my number 1 pick Siro

When you compare Lawrence and Ayshford at 5/8th this year, Ayshford has been better.

Neither should be there, but until Sirro returns or Anasta arrives, it seems Sheens will persist.

Given the style of halfback Marshall has become and the quality of hooker we have in Farah, the 5/8th is simply a runner of the ball. They aren't going to be creating anything just yet and are simply a more creative threat than, say, a centre would be.

Given his size, Ayshford is probably the better option as the runner. Moltzen chimes into backline movements when attacking the oppositions goaline as it is, and I feel like there might be a "too many cooks" issues is he were given the 6 jersey.

Yeah, definitely agree with that. Just temporary option I guess, how many games has Lawrence played there this year? 2 is it?

Neither they are both terrible no 6s humble or molts at 7 benji at 6 will do me or any combo of the three

I'd prefer (in injury crisis)

1\. Ryan

6\. Moltzen
7\. Benji

with Chris & Blake staying in the regular positions.
Honestly think that'd be our strongest option instead of playing Blake or Chris @ 5/8th.

Neither has been given a fair opportunity to show thier wares and neither are natural in the position, but I think the team goes better with ayshford there for now as a stop gap It's bad timing because both are in career poor form ( though both are on the improv) and it's not as though they asked to be there. They're doing their best I'm sure.

It's not the same, but I'm sure most of us would struggle in a new job that's different to what we normally do so I think some of the criticism is unfair. We'll have plenty of options there soon enough.

Personally I think we need another top prop to back up keef and woods if they get injured. anyone in the u20s coming through?

Well Moltzen would ideally be the best backup 6, but out of Ayshford and Lawrence, I'd choose Ayshford. Looks bit more comfortable playing closer in than Lawrence, and has a better ability to get his hands free when he has defenders on him. Rowdy's passing game at 6 has been below par this year and he's better off being left wide of the ruck.

Bang on Demps.

Ryan is very solid at fullback, no frills but when you've got Moltzen, Marshall and Farah at 6, 7 & 9 respectively as genuine attacking options you don't need a dynamic fullback (I'm sure people will disagree but that's just my opinion.)

As for who is better out of the two, Ayshford is better in terms of what he offers the team as an attacking option there. His defence is a little suspect there but he has a better passing game and his ability to stand in tackles and get his ball arm free for the offload is valuable. I envisage Sironen will be the same sort of player there, but with a better passing game again and a good kick.
