Seriously though, Lomax is a gun. Saw a match he played in for Aust. Schools vs N.Z. and he was a cut above. His intensity back then was insane. In 1st grade he's tried single-handedly to get his team back in the game or for a win... pity it was only the Dragons. Demps is no fool.

James Roberts can still be a good centre he just needs to get possession quickly from our halves & I think Hastings will provide this for him he deserves another opportunity as last year was a disrupted one for him & AD was hogging the ball too much at number 6

Roberts has not been good for years,i expect little from him in 2022 the same as i expected little in 2021.He is a poor defender and his speed has disappeared

Talk to souths fans, He had maybe 1-2 decent games for them,
Been a Lonnnngggggg time since his Gold Coast / Early Broncos / Origin Days.

Some games last year he looked like he'd never played.
His problems are not form... Not by a long shot

Theres two rookies unsigned beyond '22 that id be throwing decent money at. Both young and yet to play first grade but both would handle it comfortably.
The first is Jack Howarth. As he fills out he will end up a backrower but he is extremely athletic and would do a great job in the centres for now. Though admittedly i cant see us getting him given he has been contract to the Storm for years and with Kaufusi signing with Dolphins there is a clear path to first grade for him.
The second is Tolutau Koula. Contracted to Manly he is a player i could see us getting. He can play anywhere in the backline. Honestly wouldnt suprise me if he is already their best centre though Des seems to rate Harper and Parker. Also down the pecking order for a wing spot given the year their back 3 just had. Would possibly be the quickest in the NRL once he gets his start, but has more to his game than just speed.

I read somewhere that Manly have signed Koula on for a couple more years.

he has a touch of class about him that is evident once you see him play. great slight of hand, hard to handle, draws defenders well and is very calm. his debut last year in Cup was very good, and the game we had televised against Norths he played at 1 and looked ridiculously comfortable. I've got no doubt he could transition to first grade very easily at some point next season.

if you have a look at Scolari's highlights that I think the NRL posted you'll see Ogden put him away down the sideline a few times.

Had my doubts on Gildart but by all reports he’s impressing in pre season and is deceivingly strong despite his slight build.

There isn’t a lot of backs left available on the market for 22 so the only way our backline gets more players is if they wait to see if any backs become available from other clubs before next season to try and swoop in or they promote our young guys from KOE to add to the first grade team

Parra chasing Simmondson (?) from the Raiders as he seems out of favour there, There'd have to be a bunch of others of reasonable quality that would back themselves to get a run in our Back Line? - It's not like it oozing class...

Simmonson realy handy though really only a FB or winger. Centres def where we are lightest.

Cotric going back to Canberra will block some of the youngsters over there. Bailey simonsson is a Sydney boy (I think) would be a handy back up, athletic and fairly cheap I imagine

Think Bailey would be a solid pick-up.

Walks straight into the starting team I reckon.

Harley Smith-Shields is another Raider that's worth a shot if Cotric returns.

Saints will let him go but it seems no one wants him for $600k. I think he's pulled his head in a bit, he thought he would get offers but no one has come close to his current deal and the Dragons won't pitch in a cent.
