Ballin - Another Knee Reco perhaps

Manly were proved correct with Ballin, but not with Moltzen. Shows that it could happen to anyone and WT is no better or worse than the others in terms of luck.

Farah can put himself into or out of reserves based on attitude and form, just like everyone else. Even the much maligned Taylor, Scarecrow, pastie white, skeleton or moron (or whatever names he is being called) could not avoid picking Farah if he follwos the coaches rules and plans, plays well and displays a good team attitude.

Manly never expressed any concerns over Ballin's recovery, he was cut prior to doing his ACL because he wasn't part of Barrett's plans (that was all going on behind the scenes prior to Toovey actually being punted). GCT is just making up history to suit his argument.

Whats the point of coming on here if everyone was truthful?

Read today in Fox that the Tigers are looking forward to him being ready for the start of 2017\. Yep amazing as it is its true.

This is funny isn't it. We should resign him. He is a great trainer.

It kept Fitzy at the club for a few years!

This is the general feeling.

However some are having a hard time getting their head around it.

No one is having a go at Ballin.

Yeah cos "60 minute Ballin" isn't having a go at all.

Funny stuff, seriously people are watching their p&qs with Ballin.
And absolutely hammer a club legend like farah who has been one of our best players for years….
Pathetic really!

You're right, all this sympathy fo someone who was mainly signed to be used as a leverage tool to force Farah to leave. Cherrington was the flavour of the month, when Matt was signed. If we really needed a Extra hooker, we wouldn't sign another 32 year old with suspect knees, as I've said before, Manly were relieved to see him leave,
While reports that he is a good bloke, is probably true. He was being used by Taylor . And it wasn't for his ability on field.
I doubt that there would be one WTs supporter who was happy to hear about his knee problem, but the adulation coming from some is way OOT
The fact is that , what has been reported to have happened, was always a strong possibility.
How quickly some forget whatFarah has done over the years, and the fact that he is still playing at a high level, and that is seen by his form in SOO where he gets to play with first graders rather than the standard of some players that we have here, I'm looking forward to see him with someone like ET who actually runs on to the Ball.
Good luck to Matt as a person. And with his injury
As a footballer, who played less than an hour for the club ,certainly not a loss football wise .

Yes Farah made 50 tackles in SOO and Queensland about 600m with him hanging on

If I'm mistaken about when he actually did the injury , then I was wrong, at the time that I was told about their thoughts about him being a risk was after there was talk about JT getting. Him, The source was the same person from Manly , who told me earlier in the year about Manly going after one of our forward pack( around the same week that JT was bleating to radio stations.) There's a thread here somewhere. He added that it was someone that we wouldn't want to lose. Taupau, so I have no problems in accepting his word on the fact that People atManly considered him suspect

Wests Tigers back Ballin to bounce back

Chris Kennedy, National Correspondent, NRL.com

Wests Tigers players are feeling for shattered mate Matt Ballin following news he requires further surgery on a knee injury that will end his season but have backed the popular rake to bounce back next year.

Ballin had a reconstruction on a ruptured ACL suffered playing for Manly against Parramatta in Round 24 last year and spent a long off-season working with the medical staff at his new club to get back on the field.

Ballin played two NRL games before finding out the original injury required further medical intervention.

"It's pretty devastating. I think all the boys are feeling pretty sorry for Matty," Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks told NRL.com.

"He came over here and worked his butt off in pre-season to get his knee right and played a couple of games and unfortunately got injured again so it's not the best news.

"He's just a great bloke to have around the team with all his experience, he really helps our team, helps the young boys. He has his input when we do team video which is really helpful for us. It's sad for Matty but he's a strong guy and he'll get through it and come back better next year."

Brooks's halves partner Mitch Moses was also feeling for the 32-year-old.

He described the news as "devastating."

"Matty, it's a credit to him, he's been so positive throughout it all, through our pre-season, always in rehab at the start of the season and to have to come back and do it again and have another surgery is devastating for him but he's still been in high spirits, still coming down to training and talking to us," Moses said.

"He's a legend of a bloke and I'm hoping he can get through it and be right for next year."

Fullback James Tedesco added: "It's upsetting for Matty, he worked his backside off to get back to playing and to do it again is really upsetting.

"All the boys are feeling for him. He's been massive for all of us young blokes at the club so he'll keep working with us and he'll get his knee right for next year."

Ballin is still contracted to the club for 2017 so may yet add to his career tally that currently sits at 219 NRL games (217 for Manly including two grand final wins plus two matches for Wests Tigers) and one Queensland Origin cap.

For the short time he has been here it seems he has a lot of respect among the playing group…so whilst not playing looks like he is a good influence around the place as well as his dedication to his rehab will rub off...

Best of Luck Matt...
