This is a good thread with great healthy debate. Hope Willow does not close it down :laughing:
Its all about genuine equity, fairness and public Perception.
What we are trying to say is that Balmain have favourable status in the JV. This is reflected by no gripes from the Balmain side of the JV. It all goes there way, now this may be of credit to them, but, it all goes there way.
They have no shame.

It's unbelievably petty pointing the stick at Balmain when you should be pointing it at Wests if you feel they are being hard done by simply because they do things a different way. Ignorance is bliss for some on here.

There's some serious hypocrisy here. You want Wests to have their autonomy and stand alone, but you'll readily complain when Balmain get involved with the JV and Wests aren't invited to the party?
Do you want Wests to stand as their own identity or do you want to them to become more proactive in the JV? Which is it? You can't have both!

Im saying its not right for Balmain to do there Hall of Fame thingo at a Wests Tigers function and its not right for Wests Tigers to allow it to occur. It all comes down to perception and I perceive it as yet another bit of favouritism shown towards Balmain.

You continue to ignore that it is an annual Balmain Tigers function that has not been hijacked by anybody - instead it has been re-branded by the JV (as will be the case with the Magpies equivalent annual event as of this year)!!!!!!!!
Equity is not at stake - while both sides of the JV are equally subordinating their original identities in favour of the Wests Tigers brand (which the majority incl. yourself the majority of the time - agree represents both the present & future for our clubs)!!
As far as being divisive (not "devisive") - it is impossible to deny a trusim bug!!! The fact is you use this forum to push your own unsupported agendas to others who may either dislike Sheens or feel otherwise disenfranchised!!

PS - in answer to your question regarding how the JV is not to the benefit of Balmain - all I can say is from a Balmain member/supporter's view - it would have to be dealing with tiresome Magpies fans of your ilk!!
However - I should also state that one of the great benefits has been sharing all the good times with the other 99% of Magpies supporters!

Here are three things that disadvantage the Balmain side:
1\. Loss of the name "Balmain" from the NRL team name.
2\. Loss of home games away from Leichhardt Oval
3\. Dilution of the strong Balmain colours of black and gold with insipid white in the jersey and club merchandise.
However, I hasten to add that given that it is a joint venture, these are things which I, like all the other former Balmain supporters I know, are prepared to deal with in the greater interests of both sides of the joint venture.

So far, I've read nothing that proves there's been a hijacking. It all seems completely consensual.
If as your thread suggests the Wests Tigers Gala Ball Night has been hijacked by Balmain why do we not hear a complaint from either the Wests Tigers or the Western Suburbs Magpies officialdom?
