Balmain Leagues Club high-rise suffers another rejection

You'd think they'd be able to compromise and get something moving.

The club on council advice spent millions buying surrounding land and had it virtually empty for yrs costing millions more in interest repayments. The club / developer needs multiple levels to recoup costs. Perhaps 25 is too many but 6 wont cover it either. The council is and has always been against ANY change to the 3 level club.

The club is stuffed in the hands of the current developer and local and state govt.

Curious to know what other options Dany Munk was talking about for the site… I don't really think it's within his control to propose other options when the club doesn't own the site.

I believe Harry T is keen to acquire the site and develop the land in a way that suits every party.

He will still make money so will be happy

Is this solid info?

That's the scenario that everyone has been hoping for.

Does this mean that Balmain is now sunk and may need help from the 'other side' that they have been belittling since the so-called merger took place?

BTW, I have always been of the opinion that the merged entity should have been called Balmain-Wests United or United for short. That way it would have been a complete fresh start with a tiger and a magpie being on the emblem as equals.

You should have to pass an IQ test before being able to join this forum.

Too many half-wits ruins the enjoyment level for everyone else.
