Balmain or Wests Tigers?

Absolutely had a gutful of the media constantly referring to the balmain boys (sirro,elias,roach), as Tigers legends and asking there opinion all the time. .. :brick:

Heres a memo media reporters, Elias,sirro and blocker have nothing to do with the Wests Tigers. They played for another club 100 years ago and cant seem to let go.

If you want to ask Real Wrsts Tigers legends then go talk to prince, hodgson or benji etc. They actually are Wests Tigers legends who have also won a premiership unlike the so called Balmain legends..

I apologize but Ive had a gutfull of listening to these three harp on about everything that is wrong with this club. If you dont like the way things are you can jump on the bus and get lost 😡
 
They all have an agenda as well
Sirro (and son) along with Blocker rissoled
Elias..well, we all know what Benny has done

Change the station if you dont like them, but yeah it is frustrating when the media see us as just an extension of our predecessors rather than a club in its own right
 
thats exactly what i mean. I followed Balmain when i was younger. But there dead now. Wests Tigers are my team now and will be for a long time. Giving these 3 a word in the media only enhances peoples thoughts of the old times Wests/balmain. I dont listen to them, but alot of other teams supporters would.

They are entitled. But why is it over the last 3 months we have has these 3 guys, woods, moses and teddy speak to the media in a negative away about our club? How does that help us?
 
Does Benny Elias have any right: From Andrew Watson's article on the 12th April:Coming out with crocodile tears fooled nobody. In June 2012 the Sydney Morning Herald reported:

Mr Elias has been lobbying heavily for the controversial $300 million Rozelle Village development on the club’s former site, which is now before the state government’s independent Planning Assessment Commission.

What Mr Elias has failed to tell fans is that he owns a 50 per cent stake in the company behind the development, and stands to make millions if it goes ahead. And that company, which bought the club’s property for $1 plus the clearing of a $23.5 million debt, is earning hundreds of thousands of dollars from crippling fees charged on loans to the club.

The development never got approval as it continually failed to comply with the local council requests.

Yes we are all entitled to have opinions. But the media talk to these guys like they're an authority of matters WT
 
Disagee - imo I think they are just as much a part of Wests Tigers as are Tommy Raudonikus, John Dorahy or Paul Langmack for example

Saying they are not, is like saying your Mother, Father or Grandparents are not part of your family.

Mind you I don't think much of what they are saying is worth listening to - the three of them are just sour on the Wests Tigers for one reason or another.
 
Siro & Roach now saying it is the clubs fault and not Woods. These 3 should be some of the first volunteers for research into the links between contact sports and brain damage.

The Wests Tigers doesn't have many legends.

The ones we do have or the ones in the making are either pushed out or jump ship before they are here long enough to become club legends:

- Marshall
- Farah
- O'neil
- Prince
- Tedesco
- Woods
- Moses
- Hodgson

The only real club legend in my eyes is Skandalis and maybe Fulton. Lawerence will deservedly be classified a legend also when his time is up.

Everyone else has had their legacy at this club tarnished one way or the other.

It really shows how much of a shambles the club has been in the past. Despite the media beat up, I honestly think we are past those days now.
 
Tooiie , your is just the kind of of comment this forum does not need. I could easily frfute this but then I would only be doing what you have just done.Live in the past buddy
 
I dunno about any of you but i classify anyone that played in 2005 as a Wests Tigers club legend, got to be 20 or so guys there that would be good for a quote.
 
It is getting better. This is Wests Tigers now however Wests and Balmain must be very much a part of it and it adds to interest hear references to more magpies stuff as well as Balmain so its improving.

The problem I have with mainly Elias is he speaks as if the club belongs to him but then so does Moses so it must run in the family.

Roach, Sirro and Benny are Tigers legends, of that there can be no doubt. Balmain Tigers legends. No-one has ever referred to them as Wests Tigers legends as far as I know. No big deal when they are referred to as Tigers' legends.
Look at St George Illawarra for example, you don't see people kicking up a stink when they refer to Reg Gasnier, Raper, Langland's etc as Dragons legends. Or when the boofhead media refer to the Dragons of today as having won 20-odd premierships, no they bloody well haven't they have won 1.

Surely people can get over the Balmain/Wests pettiness in regards to what players from our club's parentage are referred to as. Surely?
Tigers had legends, Wests had legends. Wests Tigers have probably got Skando, Farah, Benji, Hodgo and perhaps O'Neill as legends IMO.
