Balmain saved from brink of extinction with new leagues club to come

A Wests Tigers branded club will do a lot to consolidate the message that we are the Wests Tigers now.

I hope they use the Wests Tigers logo and not the tiger that Wests Ashfield use.

Im the other way... I hate the current Tiger on our logo, looks dated and cartoonish, same with all the logos really. Wish we went back to something similar to the Balmain Tiger, would give better options for our merchandise designers to make gear that ... dont know how to say it, but the current club merch you wouldnt wear unless on game day.

I have a few fitted Bengals hats which are my go-to hats. I dont follow Cincinnati, but I think our logo is poxy, and if I am going to rep black gold and white, I prefer the look and quality of the Bengals stuff.

I'm not talking about the Balmain Tigers logo, I'm talking about not wanting the Tiger logo that Wests Ashfield uses.


Interesting that you ike the Bengals gear, I am a Bengals fan but their logo is just the letter B


They do use this on merch though.


My wife used to wear this to games which I really like.


I wear both the "B" and the Tiger logo.... those cheap looking minimalist line drawing logo's, the magpie and the Tiger, both grind my gears.... Im a Magpies dinosaur, a Wests Tigers through and through, but I want the old style Balmain Tiger, with a White Tiger version for our alternate strip (play Orange/Black/White home strip, Black and White away). Would give my left one for a simple/clean "WT" affiliated logo akin to the way American sports brand their teams.

NRL licencing has nobody bar the most die hard supporters wearing team merchandise other than game day. Its pretty sad really, and is a missed opportunity.

Yea . I have to agree about the logo . We should rebrand , to something more modern . Also put 2 jerseys to fan vote , for our identity moving forward . I’m sure most will pick a V type format , but the general makeup and configuration could be anything . A permanent identity that embodies us all , that is 💯 Wests tigers not wests or Balmain would a good step forward . Especially now that the final piece to the puzzle has been put up for renovation. It’s a real opportunity , with the COE , Madge cleaning house and tigers leagues getting rebuilt .

The club at Flemington has not been rebranded.. still Tigers Leagues club .. you would think with the amount of traffic that passes WA would rebrand and promote it with impressive signage ..perception is key with the public !

I think part of the amalgamation was that it retained Tigers branding.

Most of the old Balmain folk with ties to the old leagues club are either at Rookwood or moved out of the area. One thing for certain I would rather have Wests Ashfield running the show than the Old Balmain crowd, they have a history of success in the club business, granted blessed with a large population that love a flutter on the bandits.
As for the emblem, if they are funding and running the show they can use any emblem they want...it makes stuff all difference to 99% of people who will be walking through the door

I’m also from the original Balmain side , but I have to say , somehow one of the most successful sides in the late 80s , with a team of legends, managed to run itself aground 5 years later . Hence the team and club we support today . I’d hardly say we were perfectly run with those vested interests , and financial misgivings. I’m completely OK with a huge juggernaut running the club i love now . No matter what my history is
