Balmain sell part of WT??

Goes to show how dire a position Balmain RLFC is really in.

They really need to be careful how they maneuvure, especially if they push the case for selling to an external entity if the constitutionally bound Ashfield partner is interested. Dragging them into court to bleed the coffers dry, is a sound business strategy.

For what it's worth, some are frowning on the stance Ashfield has taken, but it is identical to the situation Rusty was in with Souths, and he is hailed as a hero. All I really take from the situation is that Balmain must be entirely broke seeing as they aren't open to the loan… They are either diabolically inept business minds, or just blatantly vindictive which is also great for business to think they couldn't protect their brand legally and contractually if they were to accept Ashfield offer.

It really is a circus.

People should start asking.. WHERE's Benny the so called Balmain great? the club gave him everything, in return he destroyed the Balmain Tigers with his greed..

**Since when has the Balmain side ever had more 'identity' than the Magpies?** We are, after all, the WESTS Tigers. Combined name, colours, home grounds, regions, and a completely new logo.

Even if he doesn't buy in, I would love to see him on the board - especially as Chairman

Couldn't agree more Mac …........ this is the sort of director that is needed. Someone with a sound business mind and can add value to the organisation. I think i read somewhere he is connected with the Western Sydney Soccer team. It would be good to have an alliance with them as well.

You must have missed the bit about COMBINED COLOURS.

Its now in bold for you, so you should have no problem seeing it this time.

Combined colours you say Abe? is that why the other night at the SFS, the banners on the poles outside the ground were black and gold, no trace of white anywhere. Is that your definition of combined colours?

Wasn't at the SFS so cant say I know much about that.

But decorations on poles is hardly a determining factor of the club's identity I wouldn't think.

Are we going to talk about the size of the magpie on the sleeve next? Coz I think that's where this is heading.

I don't care about the size of the Magpie, tbh i don't care if it isn't there at all, so nice try pigeon holing me with the dinosaurs.

And no that isn't the only example, just look at the merch. 90% of the time in the media our colours are referred to as Black and Gold.

I don't think so considering the staggering of seasons.

If anything it creates a powerful bargaining block possibility

No, I don't think so Gaz. Obviously you wouldn't want any more than one director like him on the board. Also its not as if no one knows his relationship with the soccer team as it would be declared up front.

Just thinking it would be good to form an alliance with a team like WSW in terms of promoting each others games, possible shared grounds, shared marketing and adminstration costs etc.
Could also package membership deals and things like that …..... would have a lot going for it.
