Beau Ryan on benchy

Can't stand beau Ryan. According him and the big marn we should be picking regardless of form because of his status and what he has done for the club. I'm sorry but a successful football side has to put their best 13 out on the field and he is not one of them. I know he is your mate beau. But get real.

Are you telling me Sirro and Fulton are better halves than Benji? The fact is he IS in our top 13 at the moment and his demotion, against the monster Souths side who are on top of the ladder and during our injury crisis where we are very very short on experience is quite frankly a braindead decision. That decision is further enhanced by having him take up a bench spot when we need 4 forwards.

Well said. The best interests of the team are served by having Benji on the field playing well. Giving him fewer minutes serves no purpose at all.

Where do you think Fulton will play when Marshall comes on? And I'm sorry, but I don't call 5 tackles and 7 MISSED tackles showing leadership and experience. Potter has shown he is serious about leading the side out of this mess, and he's shown it by delivering a massive kick up the arse that has been long overdue. Lets see how well Benji handles it. ( I've been a huge defender of his over the years but facts are facts)

The 4 forwards on the bench issue ,isn't an issue

Assuming Fulton plays 80 minutes the minute Benji comes on we will have 4 forwards

And Stryker , don't you think Benji needs a kick in the pants due to his lack of form or even trying to help the Tigers out of the slump

Sick more goss. What is it Ayshford glassed Moltzen and Moltzen is now heading to Japanese rugby and Ayshford has decided to go on a mormon mission?

Nah, they were supposedly having a few beers while injured… Aysh was probably drinking beers, Moltz looks more of west coast cooler kind of gal.

Nobody thinks Siro and Fulton are better halves than Benji.

The only fact is that Marshall has dished up nothing but garbage this season. His effort last week was up there with the worst performance I have ever seen and boy we have had to watch some rubbish over the years.

I don't care how many injuries we have, he needs to be put in his place and Potter deserves only praise for this decision. You can only live on reputation for so long, the fact of the matter is that his performances should not be acceptable for any player in the NRL let alone one of the highest paid players in the game.

Playing Marshall would be sending out the message that mediocrity and a lack of effort is good enough. It is not good enough.

Totally agree, it's a team game, the coach picks the team, the players play. If they want to start picking the team, go do your coaching certs and become one, then you can bench everyone.

Sadly it's what sheens bred into some of these players, the untouchable syndrome.

Marshall's form this year has been very ordinary.. His form in 2012 was scratchy at best… He tries to do to much andvthatscwhen he makes dumb decisions and mistakes... He NEEDs an decent halfback inside him... Since Lui left Benji's form has nose dived..the answer is simple bring on brooks now..

Beau Ryans rant on the footy show tonight was embarrassing…he just says things to stir the pot..he has a career with the daily telegraph.. sadly he will be known more as a cheap C grade comedian than for his football prowess.. That says a lot about his ability... Beau knows Jack....

Tigers have tried about 1000 halves combos with him in all of them and none of them have worked. Apart from one with prince.

Brain dead decision?? This is exactly why we are last. We will continue to select players because they are good blokes or because he 'try's hard'

It's dead set like no one watches him play. He has been awful out there and and we need to think about the future. I believe we will have a stable halves combo in the next few years and he won't be in it.

Whilst I agree Benji is not playing good footy this year I still feel he is being scapegoated. The team is in absolute dissaray at the moment due to our crippling injury toll. Benji is not the only reason we are coming last.

We have a rookie prop starting most games this year.
Our backrow combined makes as much meters in attack as Woods…every damned week.
We have only had a halfback for 4 of our 9 rounds so far.
Both of our centers were not playing well and are now both out injured.
Our fullback is in his first year and is learning his trade.
We have a winger who cant catch a cold.
The backline is changed in its makeup almost every round.
Our defence is still aweful.

Our coming last has been coming for 2 years now and is a collaborative team effort. Benji is not playing well but is playing hurt. He came back from injury early and there are only two possible reasons why he has done this:
a) The club forced him to do so.
b) He wanted to help out his team mates any way he was capable of doing so.

We can not form any combinations due to the constant team reshuffles and therefore our attack looks pathetic. That said, our attack looked very average at the start of the year as well when we had a near full strength side, so the question needs to be asked...what happened during the off season at training? Our attack has looked like crap right from round 1.

Happy, I have nothing against seeing players get a kick up the arse...I applaud it when it happens. However the timing of him doing this is off. I would have preferred he put the same side out as last week for the next fortnight and see whether combinations formed. We have 2 more games and then the bye. If nothing looked different by then, then I would have applauded a decision to spend that 16 days off to revamp the lineup. People wanted Brooks thrown in this weekend against Souths. That is lunacy in the extreme. He would have been pummelled into smitherenes. He would have been a sitting duck and it could well have set his development back considerably.

Not only embarrassing for Beau, but for the whole panel really. All too scared to call a spade a spade.Don't want to upset their good buddy Benji. Nobody was expecting them to put the boot in but some honesty would be nice. The stats don't lie, Benji himself is honest in his appraisal of his own form.
I'm not for a minute suggesting that Benji hasn't had adversity in the past, but come on Beau, his performances this year have sucked big. The problem when you have horrible defence, is if you lose your mojo in attack…......then you have nothing to offer. On that point, it makes Fults a 50% better option then Benji at the moment.

I think it's the perfect week to drop Benji. Perfect timing. The truth of it is, we are a very low chance of winning. So having Benji on the field or off the field isnt going to impact the final result. If we were up against one of the lower placed sides then yes it is probably a dangerous gamble.

Least with this action he can send the message to no disadvantage of a result of the game.

Tough call, but smart call imo.
