Beau Ryan signed for Penrith

Saddens me a bit. Beau really loved his tigers. It was clear to see that he did. Always tried his guts out. If there is one thing that he didnt lack it was heart. Good luck Beau

If this is true then I will certainly miss his over the top excitement and reaction after a tigers try. Was always great to watch.
Have never been really that impressed with his playing ability but one things for sure Beau always looked to giving 100% effort for the club. I hope he does well at Penrith.

I think a few too many people are being a touch critical of Beau. He was a solid if unspectacular wing who gave 110% and loved the club. Sure he lacked pace for a winger and that would be the number one reason he is leaving - we have several real potential stars in the NYC who would absolutely blow him away for pace - modern day footballers - BIG and FAST and Beau was neither.
However as genuine Tigers supporters we should wish him well and remember him well as a great club man and a solid performer who always tried his hardest.

how is the departure of ryan good news then?

Yeah i admit i was being a bit of a smart ass with my post.
Im just not a fan & **i think his TV career has taken over his footy**

Sure he gave 100% but i don't think he is of 1st grade standard IMO

Unfair criticism. Players have interests outside of footy too and just because he is on television is no different from any other player pursuing their individual interests. It's work/ life balance mate. Why not criticise Robbie Farah for studying economics at USYD when he was playing footy?

On a side note much respect for Beau's passion for the club- none more evident when he runs out and kisses the tigers emblem on his jersey.

From a marketing perspective thats a great signing.
Whilst he may not have been the best player to pull on the jersey he definitely tried his heart out for the side.
Best of luck Beau, just try to be kind to us on the footy show…

yes loves his passion but unfortunantly we need more then that.

Love the pick dazza.

I can't believe this signing has been 'announced' with no fanfare, and just appears in some snotty journal.

Is it confirmed?

Beau Ryan was never the best player for the Tigers and probably was never going to be, but to me he stood out whenever I saw him play for his 100% commitment to the side and for me means more than scoring 20 tries.
I will follow his Penrith career with interest and hope he does well, Good luck to him.

x2.

I'll miss his passion and personality.

Whenever a try was scored by us any where on the field he was one of the first players into congratulate.

I'll miss having him as a tiger.

because utai, lote and daniela are still injured and latu has gone to roosters/newtown

In summarising this thread, Beau is/has been a great clubman for the tigers who always gave 110%, was a good finisher but lacked speed, was part of a clique and his departure is still unconfirmed??

yup thats basically how i see it as well
still waiting for the confirmation though,
but I got an empty feeling when I first read the title of the thread.

No No No No No…. that is a great marketing loss for us.... and Phil Gould knows it. Lets just say that he has not been signed for his abilities on the field. He has great enthusiasm, just like Fitzy did, but what he really brings to the club is an increased fan base and greater guernsey sales.

Beau has aimed up well in the last 3 games, goes to show what a player can do when he is playing for a contract. I wish him all the best but we will be bombing you when play the panfers so get some practice in buddy.

Seems weird, seeing he isn't one of our greatest ever players, but I'm really gonna miss Beau - moreso than Gibbs even, who has been here forever. He just seems to love the Tigers so much and he always gave his all for the club, on and off the field. I wonder whether he will pat the panther's emblem the same way he patted the tiger's one when he takes the field or scores a try. Just wouldn't be right, I reckon :frowning:

i will miss seeing Beau suit up in black gold and white…....
gonna be a long trip to Penriff from down South.
