Beaus a sook

I wonder who he was referring to when he kept saying "there was a breakdown of communication at the top" - because he seemed to be trying to clear Humphrey's name, and I don't really think he was referring to Sheens either.

Yeah thats what I was wondering. He was definately trying to clear Humphrey's name and if he isn't referring to Sheens, who else could he be referring to? He said at the top. It wouldn't be the Board would it?

I definately wouldn't call him a sook. He was hurt.

He was offered deals which he never signed on. And has finally signed a deal with the Sharks.

It's obviously Sheens. He refused to even say his name! He referred to him as the coach and said "he's got his own problems" and totally skimmed over it. If Sheens wasn't to blame he would have addressed Sheens directly. Sheens is the one for sure.

Don't think Beau is a sook or Benji for that matter

But was does annoy me if they have this great love for each other why don't they take it onto the field every week

Yeah it is definately looking that way.

I wouldn't assume this just yet.
He also said 'he's got alot going on'.
I think there is alot more to this.

And that was the only time he was ever mentioned. Didn't try to shed him in a positive light at all unlike he did Humphrey's.

Beau is free to leave if he wants to. But he and the media have no right to imply that he was told to look elsewhere. He clearly wasn't. If he was strung along - two can play at that game and he said enough was enough. That is completely different to being told you aren't wanted. The Tigers management are guilty of being too complacent - I don't think it was ever in their plans to loose Beau.

Lots of people have said Beau was our best back this year and that is probably right. The tragedy of this year is that Beau should have been our worst back. You are in trouble when a player of Beau's calibre is you best back….

As I said in another thread , Humphrey's may swing the axe but Sheens sharpens it

Coaches live and die by their playing personnel and they make the last call

It's a little harsh to be calling him a sook. It would seem as though initially the club were keen to resign him for a further 3 years, and he was adamant this was going to happen so far as to announce it on TFS some months ago. No formal documentation was ever filled out for whatever reason and the issue became low on the club's priority list as time progressed and our season deteriorated. He basically felt as though he was unwanted by the club, a club he had aspirations of completing his career at and whom he had close mates at. So I can see why he was upset over what's transpired.

While how his tenure here ended was a little disappointing, I'm of a firm belief he is not a huge loss and that he can be replaced without too much hassle. Korobeite's only going to get better from here on in, Noofalumu has been resigned for 3 more years and is highly regarded by those who have seen him, Simona has impressed with minimal time in FG and Utai has proven to be one of our more reliable performers in recent times. Certain people need to start carefully observing the talent we possess in our feeder teams and stop reading tabloids which would have you believe Ryan is a world beater.

I missed the footy show tonight, and i think i get the gist of what Beau said from this thread, but can someone please elaborate on what Benji said that was derogatory towards the club?

So i just watched the video off the footy show page. Pretty hard to watch really. One thing is certain. Beau loves this club and him moving away was a matter of principle. Wests Tigers had ample chances to make sure his signature was taken but seemed to take him for granted. The sharks apparently have showed a bit more care, so who can blame him.
I did also find it interesting that not once did he refer to "the coach" by his name. Everyone else was referred to by name, he even said he felt sorry for Humphreys. I got the feeling that the decision was Sheens and that Humphreys had been caught by surprise by Sheens decision perhaps?

I disagree that he is a sook. If you agree to terms, and 7 months later you still haven't been given a contract to sign how serious are those at the club about keeping you? He said i happened 3 times, why wouldn't they get it all signed and be done? Why did it take the club until he said he was going elsewhere to finally get him to sign? I won't hold anything against him for moving on in those circumstances.

I don't think he's a sook, he made a business decision which is in his best interests, and i don't blame beau for that. It does come across that tigers management are not the most professional or switched on bunch though which is a big problem.

Is Warren McDonnell part of the problem? He is the recruitment manager. Surely he would have to be responsible for some form of the contractual process.

Talking about crying with your pal on national TV, cause youre upset youre leaving your mates to go 30km down the road to earn several hundred thou a year is sooking at its finest.

These blokes wouldnt even know what ''doing it tough'' is.
Ask the bloke thats been laid off, retrenched, injured and cant work, the bloke with three kids and a 600k mortgage and the bank sending them letter after letter, ask the bloke feeding his family noodles for dinner what tears are.

Drama queen?
Maybe….but its true.

Get a grip Benji, Ryan

Get some perspective.

Why didn't Beaus mgmt do the same thing?

My take on what was aired to tv was that he was very badly hurt and felt betrayed. This in itself is a perfect example of what is wrong at the club, it is not a holiday home and reflects a poor culture. The coach is responsible for the morale and attitude of the club.Beau made a strong statement to say that Humph wasnt the problem and he felt sorry for him and never once referred to Sheens by name which suggests it could be him he sees as the problem.

I think the sharks got him to sign when he was at an emotional low (hurt). I dont think he is a sook and i wish him well for the future.

Apologies for the rambling

He said "I've got some great friends that I'll have for life. Whether they come and support me at Cronulla is up to them but they'll always be mates of mine" I hope this doesn't mean what it sounds like.
