Being a Wests Tigers Fan - What Does it Take?

This season is driving me insane.
At the start of the season I was sooo excited to get going.
And then our games go something like this - 1 win, 5 losses, 7 wins, 3 losses. Our losses aren't even to top teams.
Situational depression setting in. Thought about taking my Tigers sticekr off the car this morning. Not angry, just down in the dumps.
I still have this hope that the team will do their big run towards the finals again, but…....who knows?
Please do not attack me - I will love the Tigers forever, but I just am soooooo disappointed (again).

Easy solution that I discovered, or more to the point understood, as of mid last year.

Football isn't so much about the result or even the team itself. It is about finding a decent bunch of people you get along with and having a great time, having a drink or two, sharing a laugh, yelling random abuse at officials and opposition fans. That is what football is about.

I can still be dissapointed, be confounded by performance and selections etc but honestly I can state I had a good day or night out with some mates

being prepared to hop on the roller coaster ride each season.

no matter how much we are annoyed/ disappointed/frustrated, at the team at times, I simply cannot even think of supporting anyone else.

wests-tigers or no one.

as smeghead stated in above post, it is also alot of fun going to footy and catching up with people

It must be boring following one of those consistent sides where you can predict the match before it's played. Of course, you probably live longer.

I think you're right Smeghead,
Sitting alone at home watching the game with a cup of tea last night was very depressing.
Also, attempting Dry July during the footy season is very depressing! :brick:

Tigergirlz you aint doing it tough yet, think about us poor Magpie supporters in there last couple of seasons..and on removing the car sticker it doesn't work I have done it and after 30 seconds felt the same then after a couple of wins you wished you didn't , lets face it you could be a Parra supporter we are still in the 8.

Putting up with fools who question your supporting credentials for venting and giving well deserved criticism after a rubbish performance

Nah that wasn't that bad, snake because we didn't have the great playing roster we have now, so there were no real expectations. Now is way more disappointing because this team is going backwards fast and no one appears to be able to stop it.

We are not going backwards, we are slowly getting better. Unless of course you think that getting smashed by Newcastle, and then giving the Dogs a run for their money until the 75th minute is going backwards…

I meant year to year, Stripes, not week to week in a woefully inconsistent season. Many individual players, and the team as a whole, have not improved on the past 2 years. They have little or no idea in attack and defence at the moment, whereas they did in the previous 2 years. The only reason they got close to Canterbury last night was because Canterbury had a really off night - we **are** going backwards.

Masochistic tendencies!

And the ability to handle high blood pressure and palpitations without requiring medical treatment.

God forbid if ever have a heart attack, I probably won't be able to differentiate.

You also need to be able to cope with the fact that your son's Under 11's team plays with more structure than the Tigers.

And no, I am NOT exaggerating.
