Benching Benji?

Him and Farrah can come off early if need be, but they need to start and continue momentum, you can lose combinations pretty quickly in the halves and that is a bigger risk than injury IMO

If we are well ahead with 20 left rest them both
Benji is a confidence and touch player
To rest him for two weeks leading up to semis could be catastrophic

We need to win these games to hopefully be sitting pretty come the finals. Needs to play. Can take the last 5 mins off so the bench player who rarely or never gets game time can go on.

So I guess if he is well in the hunt for the Dally M he should kiss this chance goodbye by standing down ? :crazy

Before I get shot down just a thought I had.

Is it worth putting Benji on the bench for the next 2 matches? Put him in cotton wool for the finals and if we are in trouble against the Titans or Sharks put him on? I know F/A is important so maybe the scenario wouldn't work.

I suppose if it ain't broke don't fix it but interested to hear peoples thoughts or am I on another planet

bang bang!

Nice discussion point Den. It is as much up to Benji as it is the coach to make this decision. A great player like Benji would have to be part of this decision IMO and the team would need to be in on it so everyone is prepared and know what is going on. If I was the coach I wouldn't consider it in the first place based on Benji's form and fitness at the moment. In addition to this, the best place to improve and develop plays and combinations is in an actual game so every opportunity to do this is a bonus thus leave Benji on as long as possible, good for him, good for the team and good for momentum. Finally, make him work

Particularly not now, not after today.
He will be on top of the moon, his confidence will be sky high….he's gunna explode baby, I see the headlines now:
Benji magic dazzles Campbelltown

yeh definitely. he has played this well so far with this hanging over his head, hopefully he will go even better now!

Leave Benji out?????

Not a chance in hell.

Or at Campbelltown which could well seem like hell for the Titans on Monday night.

no its just another game what a silly media created theory that is. when i play sport i play every game i can until i can't play anymore. if i got told to rest because there is an important game upcoming i would blow a fuse and tell that person to go f themselves.
