Benji appreciation

I thought again he did us proud. One moment amongst many. He obviously loves the club. I only wish he hadn't made such a poor decision and he had tried to stay with us for less money.

Personally I will be applauding him tonite.

There been lots of ups & downs…tonite is the time to remember the highs

Its the end of an era

you remember the highs forever - not just one night. And the beginning of another era.

He really has improved the last 2 weeks. The fact that he is getting into dummy half and doing some hard yards out of our half has proven to everyone he wants to finish on a better note than the crap he was dishing out and I for one am so happy I can say benji had another couple of decent performances for the mighty tigers!!!! Makes you think that he would have went great in the centres next year

He is still emotionally attached to WT.. Shame personalities and poor contract advice led him to the other exit door.

I believe if you look up a few articles he mentioned several weeks ago he might play 15, or 12/13 (so fullback or centre in union) Which was obviously surprising given his role at the tigers.

I could see him doing alright there, unlikely to make the ABs though unless theres a lot of injuries or he picks up his form MASSIVELY. Although good vs dragons, dunno if he'll make the all blacks given the dragons are 2nd last.

Benji…
Will be back after 12 months...he will seek a release from the union, on compassion grounds, claiming
Missing his WT family...

Benji you know where you belong, have your leave pass for 12 months, come back for start of a destiny for the next 5 years Of WT's domination.

I admit, I teared up when Benj did last night. We waited until after 10pm for him to leave the ground but then had to leave. Sorry we couldn't have stayed to cheer him off one last time. Despite his shortcomings at times, Benji has been part of my family's footy world for 11 years and I thank him sincerely for that. I think his emotion, and his gesture of taking his time to thank fans all around the ground, are testament to the sincere nature of the man and his love for the Tigers. Benj, all the very best for a long and happy life beyond NRL. Hope to see you back at the club sometime in the future.

_Thank you Benji, I have been watching NRL for several years now, I am only 15\. You are a true legend of the game. You have had your bad games and have had games where you are the best player in the world. Everyone loves that Benji whether they tried to like him or not. You put everyone in shock when you played, you had the best step in the NRL even I try to pull it off but cant  You are the reason many of us kids want to play rugby league, we want to be like you. You had your ups and downs but in a couple of years people will be remembering you as a "Golden Boot Winner", "Wests Tigers Legend", "Dally M Five Eight of the year", "NZ Captain" and the captain of the mighty Wests Tigers in Robbie Farah's absence. You wont be remembered in a negative way and that is guaranteed. I have forgiven you after putting on the NZ jersey, it is not a NRL club so honestly who cares? I hope you leave us with a man of the match performance against the Cowboys. I respect any player that puts on a Wests Tigers jersey even if I did not like them, even though I don't admit it at times you were my favourite players last year before all our juniors like Tim Simona and Luke Brooks debuted. You are a legend of the game and deserve the best. I hope your Rugby future works out for you and your dream of being an All Black comes true. You have delivered so much to this club and every single supporter has a spot for you in their heart. I got teary seeing you teary after the Bunnies game, I hope that you get a top crowd out there for you for your last game,\

I Don't mean to bump this thread but i just watched this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R__o3w-4N8k&sns=em it's The rise of benji. and at the end i could not help but cry. i just feel really weird thinking that benji is leaving this club. i know i have bagged him alot (sometimes un-deservedly) but i will never forget what he has done for this club and all the enjoyment i have had watching him play over the years. Alot of people don't know this but Benji is one of my favourite players if not my favourite player,he deserves to be a Life member of this Great club.
