Benji coming back?

for $500,000 Benji? I don't see how he would be commanding that much. Would I like to see him finish his career with the Tigers, yeah part of me for sure, but only if he actual puts the effort in and certainly not at that price

He admitted he was unfit and was just going thru the motions when he was last with us. Why bring him back now for his last years. He would be in semi retirement and spending too much time getting his post footy career in the media up and going again.
Plus the club would look like a joke, again.
We let go of Benji so we could invest in our future halves, Brooks and Moses.
We let go of Austin and Te mare Martin so we can keep Brookes and Moses
Then we let go of Brookes and Moses and bring back Benji.
No Thanks,
No future in that !

Don't think Brooks will go. Moses on the other hand….
If that were to happen and at the right price I'd consider taking Benji for one or two years.

And Keary for $800,000? What's Teddy worth?

I actually think Moses will stay and Brooks may go if either were to leave.

Think you mean Moses in the fourth last line.
Think you mean Moses in third last line.

It is a resounding NO from me.

Gave me great pleasure in the old days. However this is not the old days.

The last few years with us, it was all about what he wanted, trying also to wield power that he did not/should not have had, admitted he was not fit (why?), and then wearing a Rah Rah jumper to a press conference whilst still playing for us.

Burnt his bridges with me, well past it - if we had to replace Brooks or Moses (don't think we will), Littlejohn and Rankin (one or both) would fill the bill.

Austin and Martin do not come into it - we made our choice and those two were not it and at the time we were not their choice. They at this stage are no better than Benji and it is still a NO from me.

Thanks Russell, glad your on the ball

In a perfect world you probably wouldn't have Brooks and Moses breaking through establishing themselves in the halves together, so if one of those 2 were to go I'd take Benji back to bring on the remaining one. In saying that ideally I'd like both Brooks and Moses to stay, I think they will both learn from the experience of last year but I don't think the club should be held to ransom to keep them.

For the last couple of years the club has been telling us to be patient and look to the future. So with that in mind I really don't think we should turn our thoughts to the past, but I guess it will depend what the wonder boys decide to do and it this stage from all the talk it seems that they are from certain at staying at the club. If I was looking for a half Reynolds from the Rabbits would be my first choice

Benji Marshall can be our Reuben Wiki….

On field trainer / gatorade boiii + at training, halves mentor

I'd be keen for that...
... and only that.

Plus a Lleyton Hewitt role - when one is injured he jumps in, so he has to keep fit

Yeah right
Let Brooks & Moses go then end up with Benji & Peter Wallace .
Won't be any hassles finding parking near Leichhardt or Cambo then …

Beji will always be a Tigers legend but hopefully we re-sign Brooks & Moses ASAP so we don't even have to think of this option. They are our future.

If either of these 2 were to leave then I'd be slotting Rankin into the halves.

I am ok with it as long as we dont pay overs for him. A lot of paper talk that Brooks may not be here next year so to have an experienced player back in the ranks is fine. I believe he will also be a good mentor for some of the other younger players too.

Can't believe the club would have let Martin go if they thought Brooks and Moses were chances of leaving….sounds more like journos throwing crap at a wall in the hope one turd will actually be on the money.

Never go back.

I imagine this is either:
a) Tauber leaking a story to show his client has interest
b) WT leaking a story to show we have other options

In other words, attempts to gain leverage via the media.

I have soo much time for Benji Marshall but I remember his comments after he sighed for Dragons saying that He was stale and didn't really care about how he was playing at the Tigers before he left.

That Hurt… We were paying him top dollar to just plod.

Saturdays game against the Warriors showed glimpses of how good Moses could be if he stays grounded mentally.

I dont want Benji playing for the Tigers again.

Benji is now a plodder

Who isn't a plodder

If things turn bad with Brooks or Moses and we have no better options then get him back.

I don't care who we sign, if they are the best option available and they are going to help the team get to where they should be I'll be happy.
