Benji comes on fresh and playing limited mins cause of his injury, Gamble to shift to 9 for the final 20 mins.
That so would be ideal for me, Gamble won’t be rushed to play 9 so he can get a feel for the game at 6 and just ease into that hooker role towards the final 20 see how he goes at 9 from there.
Win/win if you ask me
Benji fresh will be amp the boys up
Getting a kid to play a position he’s never played before is a win?
I’m not all for Gamble playing hooker, but it’s not like the bloke will have no clue his service should be good.
Not expecting him to be a Cammy Smith, just see how he goes for the final 20 if he does bad then there you go.
Just get him to give quick service to the boys, his running game is good too let him dart out a few times if he sees an opportunity and he can kick too which is a plus.
A big body in the defence line too.
**I think if you wanted to test him at hooker that’s how you do it.**
… Or you could use trial matches, reserve grade

Unless its a smokescreen to ease Gamble in i just cant see why you would risk a player of Benji's age

We don't know what we are really going to do, that's the point. Why tell Parramatta Benji will be out until the last possible moment.
Doctors make the call on risk of injuries, don't trouble yourself too much with the medical part.

Don't worry I'm not losing any sleep over this selection.
My comments were in relation to the article. The article makes us sound desperate and Marshall keen to play even if not fully recovered.
Could easily just name Tui at 5/8 and take the pressure off Benji.
It's a long and important season, we have depth fit this type of situation.
But yes I understand the docs will make the call not the coach, all good.

Sorry I sounded a bit condescending my last sentence, not intentional.
WRT the article, I don't know, I reckon if you were to play all the player interviews during the week and then read the subsequent articles produced, you'd be surprised how small items make it in and larger items do not.
Benji prob wants to play, media certainly wants to speak to him, so he's telling them under what conditions he would be able to play. BAM and there's an article on it, because Benji still sells papers.
