Benji digs deep

I mentioned on the run in the live game thread that it looks like Benji's team at the moment not Brook's, and it does.

I mentioned something similar. Benji was in control from the minute they ran on the park. Brooks can talk about himself owning the team but I don’t think he’s got it in him.

Brooks may learn how to control the team but Benji clearly is much better at this point in his career. Benji should be the organising half and Brooks the one coming up with a play every so often.

Was so happy for Benji the way he played yesterday.

I thought when he came here if he got a shot to start he might not look back.

Yesterday is obviously too early to judge either way as I think emotion would have played a role in his performance.

However when Reynolds is back i know who I know which halves pairing I would be leaning towards.

Bento was the dominant ball player yesterday. He controlled the tempo of the game.

yes he is not the player he is was, but he sure as hell is still a good enough half in the NRL and the signing has already proved a masterstroke as without him yesterday we wont take home 2 points.

The way he slowed the game down when Brooks was in the bin showed brains he did not have under Sheens. If only he could have had those brains in the Warriors final. The year under Bennett did him wonders.

Full marks to Benji, no trial games, but still stood up when it counted. He does have a few Benji moments, but he can also do things that NO-ONE else can do

So I guess the question is….when Grubb is fit who goes.

I reckon if IC sticks to his best players get in code its Grubb and Bunji.

From what we've seen so far the best players are Benji and Brooks with Gamble third in line. Reynolds as our marquee signing is down the list.

I'm now more worried about Cleary picking the best options there rather than not having enough class in those positions.

I think JR may spend time at dummy half to accommodate benji and Brooks, that then drops one of the specialist hookers out of the starting 17 rather than having both.

Yeah good point.
I was stuck getting food when brooks was binned…had forgotten we were down to 12 when benj was finding touch and slowing it
