he's trying his heart out but his confidence is completely shot and everything he touches goes wrong. Unfortunately this could be a very difficult last month and a half for this man who has done so much for us :frowning:

No he isn't
If he was trying he wouldn't be throwing those ridiculously dumb and unneeded passes.
Everyone else looks genuinely disappointed when they make a mistake. He shrugs it off like it didn't even happen.

I think it's more that is past it. It try's but just doesn't have the speed anymore which was his biggest asset. He is no longer a first grade player.

What game are you watching? he looked like bloody Corey Pearson the way he chased after Lyon. My grandmother could have turned quicker when Lyon stepped inside him.

Farah actually looks like he is over it and not trying. Marshall looks like he is trying way too hard to be Benji Marshall at age 22 in an "I'll show you what you're gonna miss" manner and is actually just making us all grateful that he's going.

It looks like he is playing to add to his highlights reel… He is going for the miracle plays, when we just need the smart plays. I think he is trying, but needs to make the right play (just not sure that is part of his game though).

Yeah, I bet a professional footy player is going out there and trying to screw up cause he has stopped caring about a club that he's been with for 11 years.

Some players don't give a massive outburst when they screw up. I dont really recall him doing that in 2010 either, so guess he didn't care then either?

The chasedown on Lyon doesn't prove anything - (expect that he isn't much of a challenge to go past) that's expected of a First Grade player.

It's the complete look of indifference on his face after everything that gives it away.

Even the way Benji ran out tonight was sad. He looked like Luis Suarez did when he came on last week.
The difference is Suarez still looks the goods on the field.
I am the biggest Benji fan but he was beyond woeful tonight. He never takes the line on and his passes are horrible. He will not tackle and mis-reads attacking plays.
He used to create chances, now he just botches them.
It breaks my heart to say this but I think he has become a liability.
