Benji doesnt care

Even the way Benji ran out tonight was sad. He looked like Luis Suarez did when he came on last week.
The difference is Suarez still looks the goods on the field.
I am the biggest Benji fan but he was beyond woeful tonight. He never takes the line on and his passes are horrible. He will not tackle and mis-reads attacking plays.
He used to create chances, now he just botches them.
It breaks my heart to say this but I think he has become a liability.

He came out slowly so robbie and Fulton could break the banner and started running when it was out of the way? He tackled well tonight I thought. Attack was mostly horrible tho.

No other 5/8 in the comp could possibly stuff up a pass on his right that would have led to a try and 20secs later stuff up a pass to his left that gave the opposition a try. He is embarrassing himself, and he's tarnishing the image and standing he had in the game. Fake a hammy issue and walk away peacefully, but don't trot out the shite you've dished up the past 3 weeks.

The point of this thread was that Benji isnt trying and doesnt give a flick. This seems incorrect to me. He is having a go, just producing crap plays.
Stop hijacking the thread.

I missed the game, fortunately it seems… but if I am to be honest, I am getting some sort of perverse pleasure watching (hearing about) him flail like a fish on a wharf after the shambles of a contract negotiation he dragged us through in the press.

he's trying his heart out but his confidence is completely shot and everything he touches goes wrong. Unfortunately this could be a very difficult last month and a half for this man who has done so much for us :frowning:

Yeah this is the really sad thing. I never in my wildest dreams expected that this would be the way a player of the calibre of Benji would end up leaving the Tigers and the game of Rugby League - a shattered player who can seemingly do no right on the field. He should've been going out with fanfare and a bang, in a team aiming at another premiership. It's a complete tragedy really.

71st minute

We get a penalty right in the middle of the sidelines, about 30 out from our tryline…Benjis about to kick for touch when Skando tells him to give it to Anasta to kick.

He got the dirties big time, screwed up his face and petulantly threw the ball to Anasta.

Its why he needs to go....he has to do everything, over rides everyone, will not follow a plan, plays what he sees...should go back to touch footy

I saw him give it to Anasta who took the kick the rest is a figment of your imagination

Watching tonight and last week's games it's clear Benji just doesn't give a stuff anymore. He doesn't want to be there and I think he has his mind on 2014

x2 Sabre. I agree.

The chasedown on Lyon doesn't prove anything - (expect that he isn't much of a challenge to go past) that's expected of a First Grade player.

**It's the complete look of indifference on his face after everything that gives it away.**

Well at least somebody else can see it.
You're right about the chase not meaning much too, what else is he gonna do? Just sit down and have a picnic?
I wouldn't be criticising him if he genuinely did everything he could possibly do in the best interests of the team and was filthy with himself if it didn't come off. But unfortunately that's not the case at the moment.
I don't want to sound like I hate the bloke, far from it, he has been great for our club in the past but the reality is that it's just that - the past. Hopefully over the next month and a half he can prove me wrong.

I know what I saw and the [This word has been automatically removed] had a dummy spit , I can't wait to see the end of him I bet Potter can't wait either he can never follow a simple game plan you can see he is not interested.

Benji has no confidence. He needs something to go his way. Maybe his saving his best till last ? or maybe and more likely we have seen the last of his best.

He is having a poor game passing to add to his poor recent form kicking! Coach will struggle to keep him in the starting 13!

When you're not trying you don't defend. And I saw Benji putting an effort in defense. I've struggled for confidence on the field and it looks like Benji is feeling the same. He's trying hard but he has no confidence and is frustrated that he can't get it together.

I think benji is trying … to prove a point

but not the point he's actually proving .

He chose not to accept 1.5m nit the club.

Let him finish up in reserve grade or get back to Bali. This is an embarrassing way to finish his nrl career.

The saddest thing is he is kind of trying.

Anasta, Ayshford and Lawrence can join him for all i care.

Defiant, you are correct, Lawrence, Ayshord and Annasta can move on. Benji, you have tried hard, unless you pick up on your speed, you can no longer be competitive in any kind of spot. You need not be a star in the football field, you already done that. For your sake, seek another line like media and you can be a star again. Don't let people tell you that you have to stick to football to be a star. Likewise Annasta should also do the same, don't let a few dollars in the football field spoiled everything. You also have a future in the media, don't try to compete with guys, who are faster, more hungry for success in the football field and a lot better than what you are now.

Interesting times ahead.

Now that we are officially out of the hunt for the 8 I believe the second tier exemption kicks in and we can play some younger guys.

Benji spent the majority of the last two weeks with his manager trying to lock down his cut of the farewell merchandise the club will be selling and it has shown.

Last night I am unsure of whether he doesn't give a crap, stopped trying or is just inexcusable rubbish. No matter what the answer I can see no reason other then sentimentality to keep him in the 17 any longer.

Potter doesn't get demonstratively angry, he is pretty even keeled but the way he framed his answers last night about going away from the game plan looks to me that he has had a real gut full

Maybe it is time for the players to finally admit that they are the issues ,not the coaching staff

When they get frustrated when they can't break a team straight away they switch to the fancy free crap football that as last night proved that when it doesn't come off can prove costly

Is any one over the left hand second man ,second man play which we invariably screw up , last night it cost us two tries and if memory serves we failed to complete once :brick: :brick: :brick:
