No idea why he’s in the team. He’s been dropped before drop him again and for the love of god don’t offer him a contract. Unfortunately Reynolds while being a little better defensively still sucks. If you combined all 3 of our halves you would MAYBE get one good half

With Reynolds in the team over Benji, at least we were competitive with the top teams. Lost to the Panthers by 7 in the last 5 mins of that game. But was also because we had Grant at dummy.

Benji seems to bring a different vibe & attitude to the squad, as if they don't need to work hard, but trust their talent to prevail. Unfortunately, that's not working, for a number of weeks now. And I can see it in their energy on the field.

People can bag Reynolds out as much as they want, but what he gives to the rest of the team can not be measured or valued in price.

I have said it many times and I will say it again....Brooks plays better football when Reynolds is beside him....Benji stifles Brooks game...
But we have to have the club legend in the side week after week ....and for what....

Brooks' game was always gonna suffer when we brought Benji and Farah back. Shortsighted, indulging the fans, rubbish recruitment.

most disappointing part is after he got dropped, for two weeks he was putting his shoulders in defence. Now its back to his arm grabbing that he's done for the last 5 years.

No doubt he has his attacking moments but letting people run straight over you time after time is not first grade standard.

I'm a massive Benji fan. Most exciting player I've ever seen.
He doesn't move as quickly as he used to, but still has that spark where you think anything could happen.

But it never does anymore.
It just doesn't.

And the defense....

It pains me to say that if Benji doesn't go out this year on his terms he will be going on someone else's. And that just will not be cool.

People want to talk about whether he's done or not, go ahead. However, I don't think anyone here should question his effort or commitment. On the big missed tackle, they had a quick play the ball, big second rower at full speed and benji isolated on the back foot, there's only ever going to be one result. I'm not excusing the missed tackle but defense depends on controlling the speed of the play the ball and we were woeful tonight.

Mitchell Moses is one of the best halves in the game, but he wouldn't have done any better in that situation and you don't drop halves for that sort of play, you find ways to protect them and we're not doing that.

Anyway, I think it's crap suggesting he's dropped his effort or intensity. All the talk about whether he should play on or not is perfectly valid, but just look at the way he carried himself after being dropped, and effort has never been an issue for Benji.

He deserves more credit than what some on here give him.

I like Brooks, but can we stop blaming others for his poor play? Seriously, Benji's on the field so all of a sudden Brooks can't kick well? I don't buy that at all. I just wonder what our halves practice if not short field kicking? How do we get it so badly wrong?

Id love to know what Brooks was talking to the team about at HT

He was quite animated wasn’t he. He was probably giving his teammates directions to his favourite local pub, so they could drown their sorrows after full time.

Do u think a brooks bomb will ever come off?

I remember an interview with Brooks after preseason, and he was asked if he had been practicing anything new (comparison with John's working on a banana kick)? He's answer was no...wtf? Why not try and add another bow.

Biggest handbrake on his career - always someone elses fault even when they played better than him.
Starting to think it was Teddy that made him look a whole lot better than he is. He can play - made some great tackles again last night - but without speed he is limited in what he offers because he certainly lacks the smarts.
The only benefit of the doubt he has for me now is he has rarely had the opportunity to play behind a dominant pack.

The idea that Brooks performance is not on him kills me.

No idea either. His selections have been disappointing.

I’ve agreed with most of his selections but can’t understand Benji staying in there. The rest of the team on paper was fine tonight.

Hopefully with grant back next week Liddle can go bench and Reynolds takes Benjis spot, the only reason I can think Benji is there is so Reynolds can cover hooker

Reynolds is as done as Benji.

He has lost a heap of speed, and is an absolute headless chook.

Totally agree. Reynolds is rubbish. He is not the answer to any short- or long-term improvement in this team. He needs to be booted, along with Packer and Mbye.

Marshall needs to be given the ultimatum of retiring or "look elsewhere" for 2021 and beyond.

2021 needs to be a stellar year for Brooksy or he can go too. Although, I don't know why I'm giving him one more chance.

Reynolds is worse than Benji and he costs more money. It's nuts. Packer has his moments. He went at JWH last night and did okay but he doesn't have enough quality games for the cost. Mbye is just average and we are paying him like a star.

Seriously every single week Benji let’s in tries, he’s not even playing with passion anymore. I barely see him talking, barely see him celebrating anything and he’s constantly making errors and missing tackles.

He’s not playing like someone who wants to play another year and hopefully the club has told him they won’t offer him a contract. Time to hang up the boots Benji you are done mate

There's nothing much for him to celebrate is there- I agree it is time for Benji to retire:disappointed:

That’s already been tried, Benji’s like a homing pigeon.

He’s the Ric Flair of Rugby League. At his best was an all time great, but went on way way past that point, to the point where it becomes sad to watch.

It would be safe to say that when Benji shows Fox (his son ) his career highlights they won't go past 2011

He has tried in attack , but his defence is disgraceful for an alleged 1st grade NRL player

But he addressed those issues when he was dropped, that is what they told us.
In the last week Rowdy has retired, so has Aubusson, the Storm have told Cam it's time for a decision, yet we let Benji continue to stroke his ego all the while saying he loves the club.
If he loves the club he retires, simple as that, if Madge would stop fawning over him and just drop him things would be on the improve and Benji might cop the tip his form is not up to it anymore and just retire.

Spot on, and the sad fact is, Farah was more deserving of a contract this year than Benji, neither should have got one

Its a pity that he is getting burn't by young fast players, and other coaches know it. Because his attack and control is still A grade. But letting in tries does not make up for creating them.
