he's given us a premiership, always a legend in my eyes. That's why i didn't care when he tried to pick up a girl i was with at the Bourban bar back in 2004 , i knew he would be great for us!

Benji gave us a premiership ...I thought there was 16 others that day that helped ....seem to remember Prince got the CC ...and Benny Galea shouldn't have been too far behind Prince

The halcyon days Happy, seems a life time ago, we had a good spine, bench and a goal kicker

I don't see any value in bagging Benji. His positives for us and the club far outweigh any of the negatives. He is on minimum money and still contributes more than players who we have paid inflated contracts to for next to zero contribution. His days are numbered happy to leave it at that.

Feel the same way you do... and if anything's more embarrassing its that he's one of our best.

@851 always manages to give the more constructive criticism without being overly harsh.

Yes he does - tough but fair.

I am just sick of supporting a team who continually fail, and Benji is not going to fix this issue, Benji circa 2010 might have, but current day Benji is no chance.
He is not the only player who needs to be moved on, but as key half it is a necessity, and Brooks I think should be told he has 5 weeks to prove his value as well.
3 plays on saturday sums Benji up, he let in another try, which has become a weekly occurrence, throws a great pass for a try, then runs 20m across field and kicks the ball out on the full.
The sun sets on everyone's career eventually, it is well and truly dark on Benji's career right now.

i feel sentiment will change if he confirms he is retiring at seasons end.
Currently alot of nervous people that his days may not be as numbered as many would like.

I love my footy but it's no where near that important. I also think too many on here think turning it around is easy. You can't just go and fix it with a little hand waving.

Look at the Broncos. If we had Staggs and Hass we'd be a lot better than what we are now. They are a mess with some real high quality players in their roster.

True

But the club still continues to make the easy decisions

Do they ? I don't see that at all. It's a subjective assessment so you could be right. I see Madge sacking players left, right and centre. I see the club releasing Matterson and going after Grant. I see players balling their eyes out and talking like they are pretty down with the lack of success.

Personally I want the players to be happy even if we lose. I also want to see them perform to their ability on the field and for the club to develop a quality roster.

I just think it's not easy and the club is heading in the right direction.

Unfortunately if Benji retires the problem is we have to spend much more money on a 5/8, unless we pick an OK player like Walters which is hardly a thrilling prospect. We have no top tier half in waiting and we don't have cash to spend on one.

Not really. Reynolds and Douheihi are options. And someone needs to remind Madge that Mbye can actually play there too.

At least they can tackle, at the very least they can fill in for a year and do a decent job until we sign someone better

Jury is till out on Doueihi defence, looked very ordinary in the front line a couple of weeks ago.

Benji & Rowdy are here filling spots, experienced guys on cheap money. Sure, they aren't exactly what we need, but they are doing several jobs, sharing their knowledge using minimal cap space, and having a marketing presence.

Because of several years of mismanagement, we don't have the cap space to have anything more. Its on the mend, be patient. Benji is serving a purpose at the moment and that's all.

Adam 'Munster' Doueihi..

Can pass, can set up outside man, can kick big Torpy bombs, can kick short, can break a tackle ..fast enough over 20m to find the TRYLine..

I like it..

Can find a 7 tackle set as well.

I like him, but his kicks are hit and miss at the moment.
