If I took a pay cut in order to help the company out with a promise for the money to be paid to me in later years and to then have the the promise broken, I would walk too.

What if you were a fraction of the worker you were when the promise was made…......

The guy should know how to retire gradually and gracefully. Becoming a sensen to the youngsters of the club, thus will only earn him honour and develop the esteem with the fans of the club. He will then be truely a one club man. Now he has chose another path and losing some of his following and esteem. His connections at the West Tigers has somewhat taken a dent. A little less now would have got him a lot more in the future.
