Ikin missed out on the Bronco's CEO job

Good. It was always a classic case of mismatch between Ikin's smug ego and his ability.

How he thinks being the organ-grinder for the paid monkeys that make up NRL 360 does anything positive for his appeal and employability in a professional NRL club, is beyond belief.

You lie with dogs, you get fleas. Keep scratching, Bennie!!

That's not why he could fulfill the role, more likely because he has been on the QRL board for three years, so he's no stranger to the administrative side of the game.

And I'll quit as a 15 year member the day after.

The funny thing about Benjis comments was that it was about not pushing the pass. There was nothing wrong with our attack! It's was the defense that killed us.

I hardly think that walking on eggshells made us miss so many tackles.

Definitely true about signing the caps.It was a thank you from the club to members that pledged their membership money and you could pick the player you wanted to sign the cap. I chose Harry Grant and he signed mine,thanks again Tiger Harry and hubby picked Benji but was told Benji didn’t have time which was disappointing because we have always supported Benji even when he played for other clubs and so unbeknown to us at first,Chris Lawrence signed the cap.Thanks Chris you are a Tiger great through and through.

Thanks for that information.Benji is certainly displaying all the petulant attitude that he did when he paraded around in a rugby union jumper while still being paid by WT.
Very very disappointing

How long did he last in Rugby???
Thought he was a chance playing for the All Blacks then realized shite you have to keep tackling in this game......

I wonder whether post Benji's retirement it ends up a bit like Shane Warne 's post retirement .....players respect him as a footballer ...but not as a person

He is not the brightest spark as well, knows lots about Cricket and Poker but nothing else.
When he was dating Hurley they called them Tweedle D & Tweedle Dumb and that was his close friends.....lol

Benji's over inflated Ego will just show what his real character is like, hope the Club has pulled the Job offer now....

Well ......probaby not. I just can't stand opportunists like Ikin. So I would sure as hell let the club know what I thought of it. But, hey, it was a hypothetical comment. It's not gonna happen so I iamgine there'll be close to $1600 being deducted from my bank balance very soon to renew my platinum memberships.

Im thinking of upgrading to the platinum for next year.

I think I'll go for the lead (Pb) membership, reflecting the WT performance. And that isn't Personal best.

(Pb) that's where the occupation Plumber came from. So it that a Plumbers membership.

Instead of a sticker and keyring you get to have first crack at fixing the Morrison dunny at LO. Bring your gumboots!

These were my immediate thoughts. He twists conversations around to suit himself and he's never pulled up on it. As you say, he was dropped because of horrid defence primarily. But he says it made others think twice about passing the ball. Illogical, self absorbed rubbish.

Just caught the Benji 360 interview and I realized a couple of thing, firstly it wasn't too bad and secondly there are some people on this forum that are too thin skinned. I am not a denier, Benji's time has come, we all know that, his style of play doesn't translate well to the modern game. I thought the interview was measured, it didn't cover anything that hadn't already been said, it wasn't anti Madge and it put the emphasis for the performances back on the players not handling pressure and not being consistent.
Benji shouldn't play again, not for fear of damaging his legacy, or other rubbish, the game has moved on, its time he did too. This next bit is not a job for the boys scenario, but the Tiger's should get him to do their media, we all know he is adept at it, he has the ability to get most people on side, people listen to him, he relates to the fans and media like no one else, he knows virtually everyone and he is better than whoever is doing it now.

Benji , don’t destroy whatever credibility you have left. Your a tigers legend , won a grand final, just go out quietly and leave the club out of the news please.

It is highly unlikely that he will be going out quietly, he will be moving straight into a media role. He is now paid for his opinions and a lot of those opinions will be about Wests Tigers.

and if he does go down that path of being a west’s tigers commentator then he will lose alot of his fans. I hope that comment was a one off, but if he keeps going then the club should cut all ties with him.

A Wests Tigers commentator? He will be doing analysis on fox and that will involve talking about the Wests Tigers. Best way to get people in those role talking positively about the club is to keep them involved with the club.

I think I read somewhere that it was because he doesn't think it's his last game. That and he wanted the focus to be on Chris Lawrence.

But I don't remember if that was Benji's words, or someone else's opinion.

Good. See ya Benji. Hope he goes to the broncos. I'd love to see them miss the 8 again. Loved him back in the day when he was a bit of a magician. Laughed at his rubbish at the dragons, despaired at the return to the tigers. If only he was half as good as he considers himself to be.

Yes it was. He just keeps scratching away at the pillars of stability. Someone that loves the club would keep his mouth shutt so as to cease any shadow of doubt about club harmony or disenchantment. Not our Benji though.
