I am not a denier, Benji's time has come, we all know that, his style of play doesn't translate well to the modern game. I thought the interview was measured, it didn't cover anything that hadn't already been said, it wasn't anti Madge and it put the emphasis for the performances back on the players not handling pressure and not being consistent.
Benji shouldn't play again, not for fear of damaging his legacy, or other rubbish, the game has moved on, its time he did too. This next bit is not a job for the boys scenario, but the Tiger's should get him to do their media, we all know he is adept at it, he has the ability to get most people on side, people listen to him, he relates to the fans and media like no one else, he knows virtually everyone and he is better than whoever is doing it now.
Post of the day!
Agreed, the interview was nowhere near as bad as some people have made out.
Agree, some people have an axe to grind. I thought he spoke well and had no issues with the coach etc.
Why did he fee the need to bring up egg shells and his axing?
I thought he said the axing made him more determined to prove the coach wrong, nothing wrong with that. To me it shows determination. Also imo, it showed how some players are a bit precious and can't handle hard work and criticism.
Exactly right. He answered honestly and there was no malice in what he said.
I guess you put a "true " clubman in that situation ...he puts the club in a better light
Agree ..
Benji started off the show on 360 speaking as he was still at West’s Tigers but from what hensaid you could tell he’s butthurt
If that was Rowdy or Aubusson .....probably refuse to do the interview
Then that would all but kill their media career.
Not as if they will have a media career
That's the point though, Benji is now paid for his opinion, they are not.
November 1 rings a bell
The club has told him he is not wanted, which is the right decision, so he doesn't represent the club anymore. His future is in the media selling his opinion.
