Benji Marshall begins life as Wests Tigers coach as the joint venture searches for something to believe in

Featured on another site.

Admission from Benji he’s making mistakes.

It’s not the best optics he’s headed overseas during what is a crisis of sorts.

Yes, we are in a perpetual crisis I guess.

Unless his trip is for a personal tragedy or signing new players, as a member, I must say, I have some concerns.

An extra week to think about the team, teach and plan is precious.

His main task is to get the playing group at optimum. He hasn’t been to get there yet consistently.

I want him to succeed, but atm, who are we going to beat?
When Madge was going through a rough patch and getting distracted by the club politics, it was Benji who publicly offered the unsolicited advice to Madge on how to talk to players.
Anyway, whatever is not working for him can be fixed if he focuses on developing some harmonic motion in the team, particularly in attack. Players love nothing more than scoring tries, show them how to work together for that purpose Benji.

I said at the beginning of Benji's appointment,he needed to go to Group 6.7.or somewhere to learn coaching and team management...
It's great he was one of our super players and icon however that doesn't cut it at NRL level..And it shows by our performances ..
All he needed was a couple of years in Flegg then KOE where he could have brought through a group of young guys, a la Panthers. Then they would have all been ready to unleash !

Penrith seem to think we have the players they jumped on. Papalii quicker than a seagull on a hot chip... I think they know a thing or two.
Blore
Brooks
Garner just a few all doing better than when they were here.

So we have... Or rather HAD the players but we just feed the other clubs
Many of the guys playing for us now could also be good role players at strong clubs. What we need are the cream on top players like the Reece Walsh’s and Stephen Crichton’s who guarantee you 4 or 5 tries on a Saturday.

I have to say I’m usually a very positive person but right at present I’m struggling.
Whether it’s football, politics, the judicial system, people striking, the Middle East, China, the USA, the world just seems to be closing in on me.
Everywhere you turn there are so many issues and negativity and it’s getting harder to seperate myself from that. It’s not financial, I own my own home/car, and have a steady retirement income, it’s just the growing frustration with the decision makers in all aspects of life.
There is just no Common Sense any longer in the world, and I’m not sure where it went !
I’ll leave you folks with it and see if I can come back tomorrow in a more positive frame of mind.

The lotus cannot be there without the mud. Likewise, happiness cannot be there without suffering. Looking deeply into our suffering, we gain an understanding of it, which gives happiness a chance to blossom. Thus, the lotus does not have to reject the mud, and the beauty of the lotus actually gives value to the mud.
