Benji Marshall has "gone back to the drawing board"

The fact of the matter Benji is obviously still concerned about his toe and that will ultimately impact his running game. He is probably being brave and coming back to early but he isn't going to run with a busted toe.

isn't going to run. plays NRL. great combo

At least if Marshall is admitting he is out of form, he is also admitting he is in no position to be demanding a massive new contract.

Won't make scrap of difference without a half Benji cannot shine.

Exactly. With Sironen in the halves, Benji can't just run, he has to be the ball player because Sironen is not much of a ball player.

I would love Benji to run but I think Moltzen or Anasta would need to play 7 for this to happen.

Don't you love the fact a player who has been in grade for 11 seasons and was the Golden Boot needs to ask Potter why he isn't playing well and what he needs to do to improve his game

And they want to pay him how much for how many years FFS

:roll :roll :roll :roll :roll :roll Benji ,I hear Ricky calling

first step is admitting there is a problem.

without a half, benji feels he cannot be tackled with the ball, especially late in the tackle count.
he feels he needs to be in the line for the next play.

watch him with and without a half who will take some responsibility and his game changes.

one basic benji can show is some damn defense.i can understand a form dip in the halves when you have key players out, like forwards and a proper partner in the halves.but the defensive efforts he has been coming up with is just disgraceful.

You can give him Cooper Cronk. Still won't change a thing. He hasn't got it, end of story. I'm telling you, he is not out of form, this is him now. We are not going to get anything more out of him.

Average player being payed way over the odds. If he wasn't on the Ch9 payroll he wouldn't get the media attention and would fade away into the background.

Even if he has an ok game against Cronulla I will put my house on it that he doesn't back it up the following week against better opposition. FACT

Thats it eh?
Much like the Tigers under Sheens for years, we'd put a good game together an put 40 on some poor mob, and all the criticisms disapppear…..then we just go back to the old hum drum ways

Marshall might have a blinder somewhere, everyone will rave, he'll get some headlines...then it'll be back to passing the ball to the ballboys, kick out on the full and bombs that go vertical 90'

Marshall has come out today and said he has to step up and his form has been poor.

This has to be the understatement of the decade. Marshall is rocks and diamonds when we need him to be inbetween and consistent.

Due to his up and down career form Marshall will never be seen in the same light as Lockyer, Johns, Daley, Cronk etc.

On his day Marshall is one of the best players I have ever seen and can do things other player only dream of but these magic moments are followed by dumb decisions, missed tackles, flick passes to the linesman, etc.

The sad thing is will all his ability he has only won one Grand final where greats like Johns, Lockyer, Daley, Cronk have won multiple premierships and lead team from the front.

Sad thing to say but I am looking forward to when Marshall and Farah retire and a new generation have a clean slate.

Every day I log on hopping to read some real positive stuff about where this club is going or maybe a quality signing.Just something to be positive about the rest of 2013 and the years to come, but all we ever get is spin on Benji and that is all it is spin. The PR team are already sowing the seeds to brace us for Benji's contract extension. If this club put as much effort into the football team as they put into SPIN they would be world beaters. One final thing, Benji should go on a total media ban if he is serious about lifting his game,no more talk just plenty of hard work

Yep, he wants to help work with Brooks and co.

Admitting you're not at your best is the 1st step to redemption. I've been a large critic of Benji over the years, for being too hot and cold, and at times, overrated. I can only say that I respect that he has accepted his form is not up to scratch, and that he wants to do something about it. Good luck to that…

And how many times over the last 2 yrs has he admitted he hasn't been at his best? Its like they say with alcoholics, drug addicts etc, the first step is admitting you have a problem, but it doesn't mean much if you continue to relapse

Everyone is frustrated at Benji's lack of form, don't discount the fact that our forwards have rarely dominated this year.

If the forwards are getting a roll on then your backs have more room to move.

IT ALL STARTS WITH THE FORWARDS.
