Benji Marshall ignored weeks of NRL calls

If ''crushing skulls'' doesn't count as a threat idk what does. Anyway good luck to you.

Are you threatened by that? LOL I didnt say I was going to. It was a throw away line expressing frustration about the crap being posted on here, some of which has been by you by the way.

I guess thats just your opinion, just like im of the opinion people have over done it with the over-romanticizing crap of the guy, one of which has been you. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, However whether you mean it or whether it was a throw away line, if you're compelled to let people you don't know upset you over comments made towards a footy player i think you need to step back. Just my opinion.

Anyway back to the point, you told me earlier i was only stating stuff said in papers, well im pretty sure i read an article this morning where he was complaining how his mates were lost to the club. To me that is poor form, just gives the impression that he wanted to play with his mates, and now that they are gone all his desire has been sucked out of him. Disappointing considering, as i said this morning, you wouldn't get two guys closer than Gibbs and Fulton, almost brothers, but Fults got on with the job and just recently extended his contract. Lets not forget he also had to sit out a yr in England due to the cap.

Once again, the papers are an editorialised version of what is said. They are very rarely verbatim or in context.
You can take it anyway you want but to me he was talking about how others were forced from the club due to the shenanigans that go on in the front office. This opinion has been strengthened for me following his 2 videos today. I wouldnt be surprised if something similar has happened here, therefore I dont call it poor form or childish whinging or whatever you've been saying. I would like to see what Farah has to say. Remember Ayshford was also contracted for next season. Contracts do not mean jack squat at this club.

In hindsight I find it interesting that Humphreys was supposed to depart in August but left very quickly in June just before the real pressure was applied on Benji's contract negotiations. It seems to me that the Board, COO or Coach (or all) decided that it was time to move him on and one way or another painted him into a corner and covered there arses by getting Humphreys to leave the building first to cover their tracks.

Don't get me wrong, I think for a number of reasons it was time for Benji to move on but the thing that really gives me the s*** is the level of deceit that exists in the management of the club. And you don't have to look too far back for confirmation when you consider what happened to some of the other recent departures who all said basically the same thing.

I really hope that people like Mayer & Potter can quickly earn some respect for management as otherwise we are going to be heading for another train wreck in 2014 and beyond.

Understand that business is business (and I play it tougher than most) but if you don't treat your employees honestly and fairly there is no way you can expect the same from them.

This for me is the issue Benji can't deal with and if it were me I would have done the exactly same thing.

A few of us saw through Humphreys very early on.

You hesitiate before posting because you know you get slammed because you upset the status-quo here, youre called all sorts of names and told to go support another club…..

I laugh when I think of the pedestal he was put on here by many.....and feel somewhat vindicated.

Theres an old saying, 'You can't con a con man'.

wouldnt it throw a spanner in the works if Humphreys came out denying such a deal was ever made lol

According to Andrew Webster in the SMH, Humphreys has told the Tigers that he did agree to an upgrade but not an extension. But there is no quote from anyone within or out of the club to support this.

Mayer has gone on record to say they can produce a letter that confirms Tigers intent to upgrade - not extend - the contract. If Benji took this letter as evidence of upgrade plus extension, then he is sadly misinformed and mis-managed… every mug knows to get these things in writing and then carefully review them.

I personally wonder what Teflon Tim thinks about all this?

Teflon Tim is no doubt thinking the club is imploding solely due to him not being there… The truth of the matter is all these issues are his and Humphreys own doing...Mayer and Potter are left to clean it up

I think I fall into that category Ink. I am not sure whether I really liked Humphreys, or I wanted to really like Humphreys. He made sense and had some professionalism about him. I thought he could assist West Tigers into developing amongst the business sector. But when I hear what is going on now with our players being paid to play for other clubs and promises that should never have been made my opinion of him has very much changed.

I like Potter and Mayer. I don't think Potter is very well spoken, but what he says appears genuine and makes sense. I feel like people are accountable now, and if that means we have to clear the decks and build from the ground up then so be it.
