Yeah I agrre as long as he can keep up form of last year He really matured as a footballer last year and he has every skill possible . Thing that really impressed me last year about Benji was his defence it is ten times more reliable now Hope he has a huge year

i love benji as much as the next tigers fan, and on his day, he is of course the best player in the game, however to be considered an all time great he has to produce on the field every week. He is the type of player that lifts his game for the big matches, however in some of the regular season match against lesser teams, he has more than his share of off games. eg. His kicking games goes, he starts to force silly passes. Someone like Joey Johns had very few off days. ie. the difference between good and bad benji is a great distance, where as with most of these immortals, even on their off day they were still one of the best players on the field.

BUT, i know benji will get there and 2011 is the season that it happens. Tiges all the way!

all i can say to you is go and see the matches andrew jones played before he was 26.

all that's recorded now are Johns best, so we think he played like that every game. Not true

Benji at 25/26, is a superior rugby league plyer.

We are talking about immortals….a handful of players out of thousands and thousands.

Did you see Marshall attempt to tackle a walking, huffing puffing Nathan Hindmarsh a couple of weeks ago, swatted away like a fly?
Sorry, but thats not the stuff of immortals....but I suppose trials dont count?

Can't really comment, i can only comment on Wally, which i've seen many games. But i don't think it's out of left field to put Johns and Marshall in that company. Just my opinion.

I havent seen most of the immortals either and those I have i was very young.
I just look at Marshalls defense, a crucial aspect of the game…..and at times its very very poor, other times its not bad. But defense is 50% of our game and I cant put him up with the best based on his efforts in this area....others have disagreed with me in the past on this with valid points

btw, my original post was just a comment about the posters comments between Marshall and Johns.

I can see why you thought i was making a comment on the immortals as well, but i was trying to make a diff point.

Exactly….if this bloke misses the majority of the season ....we dont make the finals...it really is as simple as that.
