Benji needs an older head

Madge certainly found the intensity dial this year. In hindsight maybe the send off helped? Be great to see it repeated.
As a proud QLDer, it pains me to say it, but based on what I saw this series, NSW would have won 3-0 if not for that sendoff.
We have plenty of cattle to return for 25 so I’m looking forward to revenge lol…

I believe John Sutton has been earmarked to join the ranks. Richo is a big fan.
I always thought he was quite overrated as a player but seems like Madge, Bennett and JD all had nothing but wonderful things to say about him especially as a coach/ leader.

I'm expecting Ryan Carr to be right in the mix for the Asst Coach position:

1 - Only contracted at Dragons until end of this season. Seems to be below Dean Young in coaching ranks there?
2 - Was appointed U20 coach at Rabbitohs during Richo's tenure.
3 - Was an assistant to John Morris at Sharks when Morris was U20 coach there.
Carr, who played lower grades at the Tigers, is close to Morris after assisting Morris when he was Cronulla’s under-20s coach - Daily Telegraph, 2023.
4 - Been through success as an assistant coach helping Eels to GF in '22.
5 - A former Balmain Tigers player lol
Didn’t know his connection to the Tigers.
Also spent some time as a head coach in ESL I thought?

I don’t think it will make much of a difference getting an experienced coach while Benji is still the head coach.
Look at Morris for example, did well on his own as the head coach but under Benji I think he isn’t getting anywhere.
Morris had help... Gallen / Graham were at the peak of the powers 2019/20

Dean Pay. Ryan Carr is a good shout too.

Not sure if Sutton is significantly better than Farah for Benji- seems like a good 'team guy', but I assume Farah is that too.

I remember Klemmer & a few Bulldogs boys absolutely raving about Tony Grimmaldi and his impact as a strength & conditioning coach. He learnt from two of the best (Folkes & Billy Johnson). I'd add him to the mix as well, given how we get outmuscled more often than not.

Off centre- but Anthony Griffin got a lot of respect from his ability to develop junior players too. Tallis raves about him. Players love him. The club needs to buy into the 'development' angle.

Speaking of older heads, maybe Bennett can loan us little Wayne as an assistant coach

Brett White, assistant coach at Titans, would be another good option to consider. Reportedly contract up this year, comes through the Storm coaching system so could use some of their methodology for training & developing players & was an assistant to Madge for SOO this year.
