Benji out? To be rested?

If he were to be out, i would expect Moltzen to push up into the halves, Beau or Reddy to fullback and then put Ayshford back into centre. As much as i no alot of people on here hate having Moltz in the halves, we couldnt play Humble and Chisolm in the halves, way to much inexperience to try and control the team and run plays etc

So you are saying that Moltzen can control the team and run plays? I think you may be drinking to much Kool-aid.

Ryan to fullback, Grant to the wing and Chisolm to 5/8\. Let's see how these young players go. They could not be any worse than some of the present lot.

On foxsports news this morning there was an interview with Lote and he said Benji trained with the team yesterday and well and as far as he was aware Benji was playing

Humble @9 ,Chisholm @7 ,Lawrence @6,Ayshford @4,Reddy @3 ,Lote@5,Ryan @2 and Moltzen @1

I'm not saying we should write this game off but it would be an interesting experiment if Miller and Marshall are injured

But has anyone heard what Miller's injury actually is ??

That is great news!
Although I hope he hasn't actually been having bad headaches from his concussions it can become very dangerous health wise if he continues to take knocks.

If he plays this week it really does make a mockery of the concussion protocols set in place by the NRL.

One only has to look at the example of Berrick Barnes for how serious repeated severe head knocks can be

Think it depends on the severity Smeg.
If he'd been knocked unconscious there's no way he'd be playing.

Yes they can - you can't take that much inexperience into one game.

Watching the replays of both incidents there does appear to be minor loss of conciousness in both.

If all medical staff both WT & NRL are happy than it will be what it will be I personally believe it is dangerous ground to walk especially considering two weeks in a row he has been collected and neither attracted an on field penalty to act as a detterent

He sure knows the plays a lot better than Humble or Chisolm, seeing as he trained all pre-season at Half. With Marshall and Robbie out this could be a good oppurtunity for him to put his hand up and take control of the team.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you actually need Chisolm in the team for kicking in general play if there is no Benji. Humble and Molzten are both deficient in that area.

Marshall Confirmed as a definant starter against souths.

NRL PREVIEW: BENJI MARSHALL SET FOR SOUTHS CLASH
By Wayne Cousins
29/03/2012 6:10:46 PM

Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall will line up against South Sydney at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, April 1.

Marshall has trained strongly with the side over the last two days despite media reports he would miss the game and that he was suffering from headaches. Both suggestions are false.

The stand-in skipper is looking forward to leading Wests Tigers onto Allianz Stadium for the feature match of the NRL Heritage Round.

Meanwhile, Joel Reddy is excited about returning to the centres after playing on the wing behind Blake Ayshford.

“Coming to the Club, I knew I was going to be moved around a little bit and I was happy with that role,’’ Reddy said.

“It is a very close knit group we have here. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and there is a real camaraderie within the group and we will show that this week.

Reddy said it was important the team worked together in defence, particularly when Souths full-back Greg Inglis has the ball.

“It is a team effort with Greg Inglis. He is big, strong and he is pretty hard to handle one on one,’’ Reddy said.

“We are going to have to have that pack mentality to make sure we don’t leave anyone out there trying to tackle him one on one.

“At full-back, he can get around both sides of the field a lot more (than if he was at centre). It means our kicking game has to be really good and our kick chase has to be better than it was last Monday night.”

The match against Souths is also Tim Sheens’ 650th as a coach after starting his coaching career at Penrith in 1984.

Officials are expecting a crowd of more than 30,000 for the game with both sides contesting the inaugural ‘Men of League Cup’.

Wests Tigers players will wear the Western Suburbs heritage strip as part of a massive tribute to the Magpies. The Club will pay tribute to the 1952 Western Suburbs Magpies side that beat South Sydney 22-12 in the Grand Final – the last time the Magpies won a first grade premiership.

More than 200 former Magpies players will attend the annual Pratten Park Magpies re-union before being introduced to the crowd prior to the NRL kick-off at 3pm.
