Because “in my opinion” the player he was before the dislocation was destined for a long career playing State Of Origin and for Australia however after the injury he never got back to being that player again. Still a quality player just lost that bit of magic.

The facts dont support your opinion. Rowdy was in career best form and played his best Representative Football, for Australia, after his hip dislocation. If he is representing at the highest level, how does an injury 12 months prior to representing at this level prevent him from future representation.

Hamstrings curbed his career, not the hip dislocation.

2006-2010 scored 50 try’s from 90 games
2011 until now scored 34 try’s from 159 games

Hardly career best form after the dislocation, either way he is a club legend.

You were talking about Representative football. Rowdy played his best Rep football after his hip injury, without question. Its also without question that over the next few years he lost his pace.

His position as club legend is also without question.

My comment was that he wasn’t able to have a LONG representative career due to the injury, nothing to do with form, again I ask you did he have a LONG representative career?

And my comment is that it had nothing to do with that injury. He was at career best rep form 12 months after the injury.

I'm very defensive of Chris Lawrence, a lot of the stuff he copped online before he made the transition into the forwards was totally unfair. We have never had a guy play for us who showed so much dedication and heart towards our club. A true club legend that we can be very proud to have had play for our club.

Mate, Im not knocking him. Probably my favourite ever Wests Tigers player and no question of his courage, loyalty and heart. Great player, great bloke.

As I said I do get a bit defensive Chris. I remember during that period after he lost his pace and was still in the centres, showing up at games and just hoping that this would be the game where he exploded and the old Chris would be back. It just never happened and then I'd come home read the forum and people were just tearing him apart, I hated that so much.

To still be running those crash lines that he runs after the serious injuries he suffered his testimony to the toughness of the man.

I thought it might be good to show this to anyone who forgets the class and the skill of the man that developed into our toughest player. There is little wonder both Tuiquri and Tuiaki scored so many tried playing outside him. I have never seen a guy set up so many tries without even touching the ball with the lines he used to run as a decoy.

It's almost like two different players, he was so powerful and fast for the first few years, I thought he might end up being one of the all-time great centres.

And now he still plays hard and tries hard, but that flash acceleration is gone and Tigers haven't played expansive football for some years now, the kind that used to really suit Lawrence.

I view him as having 2 careers, one pre injuries and one after. I know others will disagree but I think his career ended when he dislocated his hip, he was just so determined and full of heart he was able to create a second career for himself.
