Benji ha a really good veiled crack at Mr. Maguire after last night's game.

Missed it , what was said?

Wrote on IG a very thankful post to SSRFC about giving an old washed up guy a chance to play on....

He said he loved Bennett.
Said he was able to play good footy for someone that believes in him , encourages him, trusts him and has confidence in him and his ability.
Words to that effect. I may have misquoted but that was the gist of it.

That is a pretty insecure thing to cop to.

I was happy for Benji to leave.
But I still think he's a club legend and should be welcomed back when his career ends.

Thats nice. He has had a strong relationship with the great coach. ? Bennet seems to have a strong relationship with all his players.

I would be very happy to see Benji get another premiership, may be the only time I have wanted Souths to win in my life.

No thanks.
I'm hoping the scum of the league get a record score put on them and their fans slink back into sewers dragging Bennett with them.
Never wish anything good for Souths.

I hate Melbourne and Penrith just as much.

I am the same however Melbourne has become so much more likeable without Gronk, Scam and Slater.

I really like Hynes and Grant.
I think they're too good to lose this year.

I find it interesting people cling onto a hate because of something that occured
before any of us were around

Pretty stupid imo

Love Benji and what he did for us and the game. The memories are something we'll always cherish but let's not forget there are memories of brain farts that cost us heaps of games and possibly finals appearances. Reserve bench in a star studded Souths side can hide his deficiencies. He was never going to do well in our current roster unfortunately and people can carry on as much as they like about him not being here but he was better off leaving to chase a premiership. Good luck to him and hope he goes out a winner he'll always be a tigers legend .

Why?
That’s what tribalism is all about.
It gets passed down from each generation to the next.
Anybody from the Wests side have hated Manly for over 50 years, Easts and South’s have hated each other forever and anybody associated with Balmain has hated South’s since 1909… and we’ll deserved too.
There’s also been plenty since I have been around (a long time) to reinforce my feelings about the scum of the league.

I'll always love Benji Marshall. The man who made me fall in love with rugby league. he could be frustrating, sure, but we will never see another player like him again. one of a kind. best of luck tomorrow night, Benj.

Even opposition fans loved watching him. Says it all really.

I hate magpies, just got back from my ride and was swooped.

Let’s be honest. Benji is no more than a passenger. If he was here still, he would have had zero impact.
If he wasn’t in the wabbits squad, they would still be where they are, he has had little to no impact on them.
So…. Storm to wipe the floor with them Benji or not.

He doesn't mind contradicting himself. If you ask him he played good footy last year too...under Maguire. A bloke that supposedly doesn't believe in him, encourage him, trust him or have confidence in him and his ability. Weird stuff.
Love all of the good memories that Benji provided during his peak with us, the most exhilarating rugby league I've ever seen, but his petty, persistent whining in the media about how WT supposedly dudded him has taken a fair bit of the gloss off him IMO.

Oh what a jerk I can't believe he praised his coach one of the best coaches ever. Mega asshole right
