Vintage Benji….bwahahahahahahaahhaaa!!!

The Parra crowd are chanting BENJI...Benji,

SO bad....knock ons,bad passes,missed a kick out.....its just beautiful to watch!!!

The weird thing is that, even after only training for 3 days with the Dragons, 25 minutes into the game and he becomes the dominant Dragons playmaker.
Widdop hasnt been sighted since the 25th minute!
No wonder it was so hard for young playmakers when he was with us!

To his credit, has hasn't missed a beat since leaving…..
...picked up with the Dragons exactly where he left off with the Tigers.... 😛

to be fair saints were horrible all over the park, i'm not sticking up for benji he wasnt good today but when your forwards aren't going well forget your playmakers or backs to do anything.

he was alright.. i think benji will give dragons' their money's worth tbh.

for some reason, when watching the game, i was hoping he kills it. looks HEAAPSS faster and obviously more motivated than last year.

could it be a simple case of Benji **knowing within himself, that his time has come, and cannot accept it?**
so he is having one more go to prove to himself he still does.

Could have fooled me. Was the same old story from where i was sitting. He tried blaming it on his timing after the game, yet forgets the fact that all the mistakes he made tonight are the same ones he made for the last couple of seasons for us. The only thing missing was the failed touch finder. I'm sure we'll get the first of many ''i know i need to lift my game'' articles this week.

Better Saints than us is all i can say.

I think from the quick kick he took from a penalty in the first half was meant to be a 40-20 wasn't it?
Just watched the first half and gnr is right in saying it basically exemplifies how he has played the last few years.

At the start I enjoyed seeing him make those same mistakes that used to infuriate me for another team, but then it just got sad!

It was an optional 20m restart he booted it downfield looking for touch, clearly as he was the only chaser it was evident only he knew the play was on…nearly came off tho

Yep, my mistake saying 40-20\. But that play is so typical of him!

Dragons & dragon's fans should get used to seeing a lot of this over the year two years or whatever.
Benji will ruin everything for them.

Sucks for them!

St George in general were terrible of course but I thought there were some good signs for Benji. He laid on a great try when it was only 6-0, but the pass was incorrectly ruled forward. He tried a punt on the optional restart kick and the Dragons should have scored but the referee didn't play advantage. The ball he threw out on the full would have been caught by Beau Ryan - he has good wingers at St G who will learn to expect the ball at any time.

For a first run, after only 2 or 3 sessions of training, he took a surprising amount of the playmaking - you would have thought it was Widdup who hadn't played with the club before.

Still hope Benji's true class hasn't been lost.
