Benji this week

Needs to start taking the bull by the horns and leading this team around. I don't care what position he plays and who plays halfback Benji is the experienced half with a GF under his belt. Start showing it!! instead of prancing around and throwing fancy passes and playing touch football.
I thought we were going to see a more complete footballer this season the way Benji started but now he has almost done a full 180, instead of trying too hard to make things happen like he used to he now seems to just sit back and wait for someone else to make something happen before he has a go but most of the time it's too late.
I know he's trying to pick his times better but sometimes these moments don't come around and you have to start trying to making them, it's ok to pick your times better but while your waiting for it the clock is ticking and your team is getting behind.
He needs to get his hands on the ball and attack the line more, yet i see him running from dummy half early in the count and going nowhere when were trying to get out of our end, what a waste.
Pull your finger out, put the tricks away, and take the defence on.

If the forwards do their job this week then I'm sure we'll see a much improved performance from Benji. Don't forget, only one of the forwards from the last 2 weeks has cracked the 100 metre mark in attack. I'm not trying to defend Benji because he has been down on form in the last couple of weeks, but it makes a big difference when the forwards lay a platform and he has a bit of room to work with. Hopefully Lui is passed fit and Benji can get two-wide of the ruck again.

Yeah, how dare Benji not play a minimum 4 star game every week. He can give it his all for the first 6 weeks, but what nerve he has to play behind a pack that wasn't doing anything.

Maybe if his forwards give him something to work with he can also fix the environment and bring peace to the middle east?

Pretty hard for the forwards to do a job when the dummy half is concentrating on being a quasi halfback instead of working on getting the pigs going forward.

The forwards haven't been good and Farah has been poor but so has Benji. I agree with the first post - Benji needs to step up and win us those games when things aren't going well.

Robbie needs to focus on owning that ruck.

we need more flick passes, shouldn't even pass normal.

Forwards suck = we suck.

Benji/Farah can't consitently weave any magic without a decent platform

Maybe if we stopped dropping the ball so much, leading to more tackles having to be made, leading to a tired lathargic team, leading to bad metres up the middle, maybe Benji can work on something. If we don't do that he cant do anything

We don't want magic we just want direction, someone to lead this team around the park, a kicking game.
Stop blaming our forwards for Benji not standing up and taking on the defence, he has had plenty of opportunities but he's too busy sitting back waiting for his moment to come in a game while the game passes him by.
At the moment all he tries to do is wait for an opportunity to put Lote down the sideline that's his only play and it stands out like dogs balls on a canary. If Benji got involved as much and worked as hard as Thurston he'd be the best player in the world.Thurston doesn't cruze around waiting for his forwards to dominate he dominates.

i disagree, when forwards are moving benji doesn't try to force the play (which sometimes works)
he over-plays when we are on the defensive/

that sums it up very well.
can't score if you don have possession of the ball. :unamused:

if all players go forward anything can happen.
don't always rely on benji & Lote to get team out of trouble.
there are 13 players on the field, they all contribute well and the team wins.
get the little things right, like holding the ball, no dumb-ass passes thrown etc.

Benji has been a passenger since Moltzen got injured and everyone wants to blame the rest of the team for it.
In a time where the team was looking for someone to step up and direct this team, lead them around the park, he has taken a back seat and sat back waiting for opportunities to come his way.
Like i said he's our experienced half and we cant use the excuse he needs more games under his belt, give him time like everybody loved to say, he's got it now.
At the moment he's in limbo, it seems he's stuck between over playing and not getting involved enough he doesn't know what to do, he wastes touches with useless dummy half runs and still has that unnecessary dumb pass in him.
I just want to see him take teams on.

Benji, TNT & Timmy Moltzen were having a quiet dinner last night at the best (but getting expensive )Italian Restaurant on the Major Bay Rd, Concord strip…Il Tratto Raro Pizzeria & Restaurant.

My brother was there and he said TnT was walking well and he thinks that Beau Ryan was also there.
