Benji

Maybe its just me but it seems like he's beginning to cop a little bit of extra unwanted attention by oppositions.
Not so noticeable last week, but Ive seen a few niggly things…saints game someone tried to stir him up, a bit of a scuffle ensued and luckily nothing negative for us come from it.

We all know his passion, loyalty and is a fierce competittor....the saint incident brought back to me the roosters semi last year where Pearce sort of sucked him in, got him to throw one and it cost us big time.

Make no mistake I love his aggression but he needs to learn which im sure he already knows, he's THE MAN, will be targetted and needs to keep his head.

Stay cool Benji!

It doesnt surprise me, I didnt say that anywhere.
His big men cant be there with him everywhere, he cant have bryce or keith holding his hand when he takes on the line.
Im just saying he needs to keep his head, players are & will try and put him off his game

I think we are more than a one man team these days, so they can target Benji an their peril…...

Think you guys are missing Ink's point. Ink is simply that Benji needs to stay cool despite the extra attention. Valid point.

But isnt that a tactic every coach in the game will employ.Benj can be a hot head , he will not back down from anybody on or off the field .

I agree with Ink's points. I also love the fact that Benji can be a firey character and does not put up with niggly tactics. If someone does him wrong in a tackle he will get up throwing them left and right - which really shows he has a lot of passion and aggro in him…its not all flick passes and steps. Regardless, as long as he doesn't blow up in the wrong situation (ie when it's not warranted) then i don't have a problem with it.

Imo he cops it heavier at times than others.
Often he's left alone….its dangerous for teams to focus on him too much.
Southerntiger gets my point. Dunno why its so hard to get it across here

Valid point Ink. Last years semi comes to mind when Pearce goaded him into fisticuffs at the PTB and resulted in a disallowed try for us.

He does attract attention and he simply needs to keep cool and channel the aggression through his game, not by laying a right hook on someone's face. As last year has shown us an uncontrolled temper could work to the detriment of the team.

I agree. I love how he doesn't take crap from the opposition and will fire up big time but sometimes he should just let his football do the talking. Most of the time it will make the opposition shut up anyway.
