BENJI

We;re averaging 11000 at home this year, he's NOT putting bums on seats

Bit rough to put the onus on Benji for our poor home crowds this season. I would say it has more to do with our pretty poor season thus far, injury toll robbing us of a few of our better players for most weeks (the best players attract the biggest crowds), some pretty rotten weather at a few of our home games as well.
Agree that Benji's poor season thus far is a major factor in our disappointing season but he ain't the only one to blame that is for certain.

Haven't seen anything official on his re-signing so it is probably just speculation at this stage anyhow. He needs to play WAAAAY better to earn the money he is on, he is so bloody frustrating to watch.

I dont defend Ink too often. But he makes a valid observation. A winning team brings the crowds.

??????????? Absolutely it does. But why is us not winning and therefore not getting bigger crowds ALL Benji's fault? It is ludacris to hold him solely to blame for our poor season and poor crowds.

Looking at it logically we should put the blame for our poor crowds on the fans who didn't attend the matches.

When did they say that all I heard was "breaking news" right at the end and all that was said was "Benji is seeking a release from the final two years of his contract" they didn't mention RU.

Thank you for the memories. You had been a star of the tigers and have a place in our hearts. We congragulate you for getting a good deal from somewhere else. The contracted amount left over will do our youngsters a lot of good and many incentives for our juniors. In a new enviroment you may reach new greatness which we will be happy for you. Adios Senor.Best Wishes.

He asked for a release, do we now not need to pay out his reamining years???? He maybe playing chicken to see if Mayer blinks? If he has chosen this option, so be it and good luck to him. It may be a couple of year but the team will be a stronger one because of it, following a stron leader in Farrah.

LOL 90% of the team are out we sign then release players, release then sign keep players.

All they had to do was honor his contract but chose not to. Now we go back to losing culture we had before his arrival.

I coached Adam Reynolds at Leichhardt in 1997 and I am only glad his is out of the place.

Welcome back to the Alan Jones years don't blame the players look at our board over the last ten years.

What a joke of a place they cant even run a leagues club, we get a home final and give it away and Adam Blair fiasco but no blame Benji.

We did honour the contract. We upgraded the contract. Benji is the one who didn't honour the contract and asked for a release.

At no stage did his contract state he would receive an extension.

Watched his interview on the Footy Show. Seems quite devastated with no where to go. Made me think his manager should be sacked.

I've been saying this since this whole circus started. Benji is screwing himself and his manager and possibly the people around him are simply offering him really bad advice.

Benji has always been a quality person. I really wish he had taken a step backwards and just calmed himself down prior to making a decision.

Don't kid yourself Benji has firm plans beyond 2013… Just not announced yet...

Scoop? Or just a feeling?

I think he has to have plans too. I'm thinking either Japanese or European rugby before coming back to the Waratahs or a Kiwi rugby side.

Where are you getting this information from? From what I have seen and heard, the exact opposite is true.
