Sirro snr would have more heart and more pride than all of our current blokes put together.

I think you can exclude Farah (if not a few more as well) out of the equation. He may be around a year too long for some people but still performs quite decently in every area of the game - and many fans and non fans reckon he still should be capt.

Just want to go on record as one that says he shouldn't.

You really don't need to defend him against every negative post - they are only opinions.

And you really need to castigate him against every positive post - they are only opinions, happy Sunday Russell and we will be cheering from the same corner this arvo. (I did leave a bait for you somewhere but you declined)

Tele this morning Tigers to make offer to Marshall if Brookes or Moses leaves ..one other club interested. O'Neill certainly has the boys club network working overtime , Littlejohn moving forward in the short term would be my go ..the Tigers never a dull moment ,a club that never moves forward .

Please Littlejohn? You make a claim of a "boys club" based on an article in a Telegraph link this to Mark O'Neill. Please confirm you have more knowledge that what is written in the Telegraph.

Maybe the club is giving Brooks a hint to move on, they have learnt to be a bit more subtle than with Farah.

I'd be asking very difficult questions about the quality of coaching afforded our young players before moving any young player on.

I can see JT being re-signed even if he fails…that's how we do things.
. However I don't think he's the bloke to take us to semis regularly... More the bloke to maybe get us off the bottom... Maybe.
Our next recruit MUST be a quality experienced no BS COACH.... 2018 come on quick

We may have to live through the Farah / Marshall 2017 fairytale finish …:brick:
I feel sick !

Benji was assessed as having had a good season in 2015\. He engineered many tries for his team mates, and even scored a couple himself. McGregor favored the 'left half/ right half' structure in an era when most teams just have one organizing half. St George made the playoffs. **Not a bad year.**

I still don't get the attitude that Benji gets from a number of you on here. Like you resent having to admit that he was once the greatest player in the league, winner of the Golden Boot etc. He will always be one of my all-time favourite players, and I hope he does well whoever he plays with now and in the future.

Thats right,2015 season wasn't a bad year but by his own standards a very average, even poor, year. This year he seems to be completely out of sync with the Saints backline, particulary Widdop, but they may get something going later in the season.
He got heavily criticized when he ran across the field and then got bundled into touch against the Cow's,he was waiting for an inside run so he could flick the ball instead his teamates just stood there and watched, they had no idea what the hell he was trying to do.
I think most of us on here that have been involved in Football know that Benji was a great player but you can't run a Club on what a player did 10 years ago, there are no favourites just form players, you can cut slack to the youngsters and give them time to adjust but any Club 'carrying' a mature player on what he did in the past is history.
Benji does not hit the line hard, never did,he relied on guile & speed, when you loose that speed edge you are easy pickings for the defence.
Martin Tauber,if the rumours are correct, tried to reason with him, tried to make him see reality as far as a new contract is concerned,so he dumped him, there is one giant ego
headed for a fall which is shame as he was once a Champion.

Benji will miss the next two weeks and the 300 k offer is OFF the table

If he comes back to us I'm done , I'll burn my jersey .

Oh Benji what has happened to you?

You know what though if he'd stayed here, we might have had Benjigate and Farahgate both last year, trying to move them on off big contracts.

I have not watched Benji much at ST G but at times he certainly played careless footy with the Tigers, I think Robbie has kept his side of the contract up in performance, his slowness with ageing is not his fault, also JT's attempt push him out too late in the season and when too old is also not his fault. The club is more at fault than Robbie in this affair.

Brooks has potential and is in a slump
We let him go and he picks up his game under a different coach with a different team and we'd be left with licking our wounds

I'm saying there is plenty to get from him provided the right approach from the right person
Taylor isn't doing that right now.

Benji, ah well, he was been missing more games this season due to injuries

He is welcome back to WT in a PR Role, Not as a player I'm sorry

sorry to always mention him, give Robbie the PR roll for a reduced salary combo or spread out over more years to ease cap and financial problems. Even toss Robbie the coaching he does as a freebie and for honour of doing and to help the club financially.

Seriously BBF - do you pray to Robbie the Football God everynight?

If it would solve all of WT troubles why not - and you would join me

I kinda feel for Benji, his manager has screwed him over badly.

The whole thing about leaving the Tigers because they reduced their contract offer after a 'handshake deal' was the start of a downward spiral. Then the way he left by filming a video in an Auckland Blues jersey left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. Then obviously his Union stint failed and coming back to NRL he struggled to find a club that wanted him, and he's obviously unhappy at the Dragons, you can tell he doesn't want to be there. Now he can't find a club that wants him, even on relatively small money.

The guy's been given a lot of bad advice I think.
It'll be a shame if he goes on to be remembered as an average player who had a couple of purple patches rather than the star he should be remembered as.

And Russell I was challenged by Geo or Gallagher a few weeks ago how many games am I watching this year so I am watching all and opening my big mouth up even wider.

I reckon Robbie has been pretty good this year for us. The problem is that he is overpaid for what he offers us. These long term contracts for aging players is another dumb thing to do. I think though Robbie and Benji did this as well. They tried to get as much as possible and they probably thought they were worth it when they aren't.

I love Benji as a player. He always gave his all and he won games for us consistently. He did have plenty of mistakes in him but overall he was great for us.The problem is that he slowed down and he is now nowhere near what he was at his peak. He was trying to get a massive contract of us and he believed his own hype.
