Benji

Superb performance from the Benj tonight, wasnt great in round 1, but still had 2 try assists and one of his own, last week more, this week heaps.

He has pretty much been responsible for every try this year.

Great game.

3 try assists, 5 from 8 with the boot, a lovely 40/20 and he still didn't really take the line on in attack himself, he's just got the best vision and is 2 steps ahead of everyone else out there. He'll bag 3 Dally M points for sure after tonight's performance.

Impressive, that's for sure. And to think the guy still has a lingering court case to deal with, makes his recent performances more impressive. Like last week, he may have been the difference between the two sides.

With ball in hand, he attracts so many defenders because of his unpredictability. Look at the first try, drew 2 defenders handed it off to Lawrence who did the rest.

What about his ball to Utai? There are only a handful of players in the competition who could have done that and he's one of them.

The more I think about the way he is playing and controlling games the more I think he will soon be at the Wally Lewis level . The big thing will be when we play Dragons and the likes see if he can be as controlling against them

If he plays this well all season and then wins games ala Wally he may be one of the best players ever. It is a big ask but I think he can do it.

I remember Andrew Johns took a while before he won games ala Lewis.

Yeah its more how he sees things way ahead of other players like Lewis he is 2 plays ahead of every one else on the field

Memorizing performance.

I was talking about this to my wife during the game (we are both touch players) - that I don't understand why other clubs don't follow what the Tigers have done and developed a touch footy player in Benji Marshall. What he did on Saturday night was touch footy 101, his running game, quick plays, stepping, catching opposition offside and passing is all what touch is all about.

….Though I'm glad other clubs haven't caught on :smirk:

He passed Joel Caine tonite, is now 2nd on all time goal scoring for Wests Tigers behind Hodgo

Joel was a sideline specialist! Often missed the easy kicks though.

Marshall kicked 5/8 this week (what position does he play again?). Croker had another kicking nightmare against us, kicking only 2/5.

Worlds best 5/8 in the history of the game.

Can anyone believe he was being played at 7 at one time with a view of him being permanently there !?!?!

Fifita to kick goals from now on.

Easily the no.1 player in the game .
Makes a brutal game look beautiful!
