Benji's 3 hour deadline?

On the footy show today it was said that one of the reasons he may have left was the wests Tigers demand that he decide within 3 hours?

I hadn't heard that before but he and his manager had earlier said that negotiations had dragged on for over 6 weeks. Then Benji decides to go to Bali to make his decision?

I don't get it, on his arrival back home he has to make a decision within 3 hrs and he gets nuffie when he had been thinking on it for at least that week anyway?

Anybody know about the 3 hour deadline?

I only first heard it mentioned after Thurs footy show ( I didnt watch it)

Cant see how any deadline works when he's contracted for another two years anyway.

Just sounds like more BS

Maybe if he didnt go to Bali all week it would have been a week and 3 hr deadline!

Correct. I'm glad its over as well. Its still painful hearing this palava.

More palava is Sunday Telegraph's Phil Rothfield report that Benji left because Mick Potter said something bad to him. More BS more papers as usual.

Never heard this, I just think he thought he was dealing with Humphreys still and he would get what ever he wanted. He played chicken with Mayer, and he lost. The offer was a very good offer, but obviosly not good enough for him. Didn't want to play second fiddle to Farah and his wages. Unfortunate, but you can't help someone that doesn't want help. He could have re-negotiated when his current contract ran out. If his form was good enough, he would have got an extension. If not, retire and be part of the club and get a nice coochy job. Godd luck to him and getting into the allblacks, I think he'll need it.

Read something like this on the League Live App; got back from Bali on the Sunday, met with Tauber 4pm Monday and found out the deadline was 3 hours later. All seems like a bit of BS to me, a bit of a cover up for the fact that he simply doesn't want to be there any more. I don't doubt his contributions to the club over his career, but there's no way in hell a professional sports organisation would give a marquee player 3 hours to decide. Seems to be trying to play the sympathy card and tar us on the way out, poor form Bungee.

Exactly , his a has been , his FINISHED….. the best thing that could of happened to the Tigers is him leaving and I really mean that.
If he would of signed the extension of $2.1 million everyone on here would of been jumping up and down how this could be with his form being so bad for so long etc. and because of the extension we have lost such and such Junior to another club.
So let's move on and cherish the memories that he has given us all.
P.S he is no hope for the All Blacks.

He's - 'he is' abbreviated.

**He is** finished
**He is** a has been

He's

His

The more this decision settles on me, The More I am happy with this for the long term.

I feel similar. The way Benji has handled it with his "woe is me" attitude has made me really turn off him

In his current form and often stated loyalty to the club he should've taken 3 nano seconds to accept . Then shortly after that he should've sacked his manager for not getting the other alleged deal in writing .

Wish I had 3 hours to decide on 1.5M for two years….. its a tough life in his shoes.

One would have thought time in Bali was enough time.

Haven't read it but the Potter argument simply doesn't ring true to me. I reckon he is just over the whole thing and has a truckload of money and thinks he can earn more easily enough. I think he is wrong but hey that is his call.
