Benny Elias Will Be On Talkin' Sport At Around 4.15pm Today

It was a pathetic interview and poor questioning.

Sadly was hoping either Benji and or Farah would be one club players so in the future the media would speak to them rather than Elias. Why not ask Noel Kelly for his opinion.

Sadly now this will not be the case.

What went wrong.

This guy needs to shut up about WT.

After what he has done to destroy the Balmain LC and the BFC so in turn destroying half of the joint venture - Legend indeed.

Well there goes any semblance of credibility. Great player but his reputation is shot.
And out of all ex players, those jokers at Talkin Sport had to interview Benny. The only saving grace is that hardly anyone listens to this show

It's because Benny is Mr Rent a Quote.

They get him on and hope he will make an outrageous statement that gives them some publicity.

I'd say most other former players from his era are happy to stay out of the lime light.

When there's a pressing issue at Wests Tigers, Balmain legends are the guys to go to.

Roach and Elias have been nothing but an embarrassment to Wests Tigers. And I idolised them growing up.

Absolute spanners.

Not that i endorse seeking the opinion of Balmain or Wests legends, but if the media insist on asking Balmain legends what they think, they could at least ask the only one with the brains and credibility. That being Wayne Pearce. Plus with him the clubs original coach, you can at least justify why his opinion is relevant.

Agree, but is he still on the commission? He probably can't make comments about clubs.

Here you go turning this into another Wests v Balmain thing. Really??????

If you cant see why the opinion of Roach or Elias or any former international of the club is relevant there is an issue here.

What do you mean "another Wests v Balmain thing"? I wasn't the first who commented on it. In related news, I noticed nobody in the Wests v Balmain police acknowledged the comment someone made in the Farah thread saying the decision was made by Wests to eliminate everything possibly related to Balmain. Not that I was surprised by that either.

I don't think Gunners was either.

I'd love to hear Tommy's opinion on the current dramas at our club

It's annoying that the Media and some fans see the likes of Roach Elias Tommy as Wests Tigers Club legends former international of our Club…don't think so....

I eagerly await the day when the likes of Hodgo O'Neil Skando Fulton Marshall Fitzy and ironically Farah's opinions are sought instead....

Pull your head in Benny...

I think the fact that a lot of those guys have the personalities of cardboard boxes means that journos will have to get pretty desperate before seeking their opinions on WT related matters.

If you speak to Blocker or Benny, your likely to get an outrageous or controversial opinion, which means more views, clicks, and sales. That's all these journos are after.

At least our ex-champ Braith seems to be the go-to WT guy on Fox. He didn't play for Balmain or the Magpies

Darcy Byrne isn't a fan. This was posted on his facebook page today. Guess it takes a grub to know a grub.

…..............................

BUTT OUT BENNY

Enough is enough – I know the Tigers are doing it tough but none of us should have to take any more lectures about loyalty from Benny Elias.

Yesterday Benny went out in the media to make use of the Robbie Farah controversy to tell Tigers fans all about how our Club should be run.

Amongst other things, he said that “Tigers supporters have got to know exactly what is going on behind the scenes” and that “I am a very big man of loyalty”.

I’m as disappointed as anyone about the current situation but now Benny is giving the rest of us lessons on loyalty? Seriously?

According to an investigation by the Sydney Morning Herald in 2012 - “How Benny Elias put the bite on the Tigers” - Mr Elias entered into a business partnership with international developers, to purchase the former Balmain Leagues Club site in Rozelle.

The report states that Mr Elias made no financial contribution to the cost of purchasing the site but was initially paid $600 000 for brokering the deal, then claimed some or all of an ongoing fee of $230 000 per year (paid for by the club) for the next several years.

It says he stood to make millions of dollars if the 32 storey skyscraper he was advocating for was approved.

Many Club supporters were completely unaware of this arrangement.

Last year the development company Benny had been involved with tried to put the mighty Balmain Tigers into receivership. Only action in the Supreme Court, which I gave strong public support to, prevented our Club from being made extinct.

In the interests of transparency I should declare that I have dealt with Benny directly in regards to the Balmain Leagues Club redevelopment and found his approach to me personally offensive to say the least.

I could say more but I want to protect my family from defamation action from Benny or his associates.

I want Wests Tigers to succeed, Balmain Leagues Club to come back to Rozelle and for the history of our great club to be cherished and built upon.

For that to happen it would be best if Benny would butt out.

GNR,mate the hardest thing to work out in this situation is…...

Which one is the bigger grub....but then again once someone has been labelled a grub,it wouldn't really matter.......
