Best crowd/atmosphere

Well, since there are topics on greatest Leichhardt, Campbelltown and Tigers moments, I thought I would create my first topic and ask for everyones favourite moment they have been in a crowd. I'll start off - I thought the 2005 preliminary final vs. the dragons was incredible. The atmosphere was amazing and I'd love to be in a crowd like that game for 2012…..go the Tigers

Easily the 2005 semi against St. George.

Excluding finals matches, the Parramatta match at the SFS in 2009 is daylight ahead of any other regular round match.

I'd go along with that Gary and add any of those games at Leichhardt against the Bunnies when we smashed them.

Have to agree chief, the atmosphere at that 2005 final was magic,
So was last years QF win over Saints. In fact any finals win over them is magic.

Can't beat the 2005 Grand Final though !

The greatest atmosphere for me of any game was when Artie Beetson ran onto the field for the first ever SOO game I have never heard so much noise .Stories have the roar heard 3 suburbs away

The noise when Mitch Brown scored when we beat Brisbane in Brisbane was crazy for an away game .

I reckon we outnumbered the Brisbane fans that night

It felt like it

If you want to feel a moment of that fantastic night check out Youtube - One Magnificent Night…Tigers into 2005 GF. Sorry don't know how to make the link.
Makes me shiver still.

Just pop into the codes (at the top of a reply or click on the box on the side) and look for the one that says URL. Then copy and paste the link in the middle and viola!

2005 v Dragons was the best rugby league crowd I've ever been a part of.

I was at the socceroo's world cup qualifier against Uruguay where we won on penalties and that takes the cake as "my" all time best!

Rd 1 2006 when we beat Dragons at Telstra was pretty awesome, everyone chanting "we are the premiers". Didn't last all year unfortunately.

Also the crowd reaction Rd 6 2009 when Lawrence scored down the sideline against Melbourne off the scrum. Leichhardt crowd went ballistic.

Final Balmain game at Leichhardt over Parramatta Rd 24 1999.

Shark Park Rd 21 2005 when Benji laid on "that try". Was part of a run of about 4-5 years of glory at Shark park with huge Tigers crowds and great results.

Drubbing of Bulldogs at Telstra Rd 24 2005\. Repelled them for 15 minutes and then went rampaging. I knew we were going to win the comp after that game.

By the way I got the rounds not exactly from memory but from RLP: http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org. Simply the best stats and "memory lane" site out there.

Undoubtely the 2005 final against the dragons
But a close second is the 2nd Kangaroo test in 1990 at Old trafford ,Manchester
The pommies were singing "land of hope and glory " before the game and had a robust return of serve with "waltsing matilda" from the smaller aussie crowd

The best crowd or atmosphere I have experienced would easily be the Dragons semi final this year. One word to sum it all up- amazing.

I didnt go to the 2005 final against the dragons but i did go to the grand final in 2005, the atmosphere against the dragons last year was pretty good but i honestly thought the year before when we lost by a point to a jamie soward field goal was better as there were more people there and it was better weather ans the atmosphere was electric.

2005 semi against Dragons by a long way…I have been to a lot of finals, SOO, Test matches and GF's. None had the amount of raw passion that that game did. Happy the crowd for Big Artie was heard 3 suburbs away, however that night we were heard on the moon.

2nd best for atmosphere for me was the Roosters semi last year. Sensational game, sensational crowd.

3rd best was the SOO decider when Alfie came out of retirement and led us to victory, scoring in the process.

Agreed… Was a great feeling doing the walk out that night. I was with 2 Tiger families, seated in front of a row of diehard Broncos with big mouths. It started to rain with 10 to go and everyone in my group decided to leave and go under cover. I stayed and the Bronco pansies kept yelling out to my missus and kids to make sure they take me with them, as I'll be a emotional wreck at fulltime. I just smiled and when Robbie kicked and Brown layed it down, I gave them plenty, nipples and all!!! :righton:

Origin was always a special experience at Lang Park... As was Tests matches. I was there for the Dowling vs Tamati fight and the funniest one was the year after the Can Throwing Incident for the Test Match against NZ. Some smart digger decided the way to go was to stop the cans leaving the Can Bar on the Hale Street side by getting the crowd to pour them into plastic cups before leaving the bar area. All looked to be going well until NZ scored a try with 10 to go and the vocal/intoxicated crowd let rip with plenty of cans... Next year we saw the introduction of Cups only. :frowning:

I always enjoyed the experience walking back to the Tigers Club at Rozelle after a win by the Balamin Boys... Plenty of pit stops at the old hospital, but we all got there in a great mood.
