Best option

no brainer definitely 4 forwards in the modern game.

Fulton and Dwyer could play in the backs during a game if injury occurs.

Not only do you need 4 forward on the bench but also making sure they are given amble time and the starting pack is also given a break during the game to recharge the batteries.

With all players available I would have a bench like the following;

Fifita (prop rotation - an impact player and to replace Woods)
Gibbs (prop rotation - adds experience when Galloway is replaced)
Dwyer - (second row/lock rotation)
Fulton - (utility - can play in the forwards and backs)

Starting line up

Galloway
Farah
Woods
Payten
Ellis
Heighington

who knows…i've never seen another coach carry a winger on the bench n particulary in the modern game...i think he only does it to cover for injury which is completely stupid...if an injury occurs u just make do not carry a winger on the bench every single week to cover for a possible injury...i think of it like in cricket when a bowler bowls a bad ball n it beats the keeper n goes for four, does that mean u put a fielder directly behind the keeper to stop this from happening? no its just bad luck...how many other coach's carry winger's on the bench week in week out?...i could handle it if it were a half like Jacob Miller but wat possible reason is there to play Beau Ryan from the bench :crazy

You need 2 props. I think an impact 2nd rower is a good option. After that I don't think it matters. If you have a player that can get into dummy half and explode it is a good option.

I Imagine if we are at full strength he would have Moltzen as he can fill numerous roles on the field . But normally we should on the bench 2 props second rower and a utility . Remember Parra 2009 or Canberra 2011 you can get numerous backs injured in one game

So, how does that help, if you get NUMEROUS forwards injured in one game? If you pick your team based on something that happened twice in two and a half years, you would have many other scenarios to consider in the remaining matches. What do you do to cover them as well?

Well I like the fact of having Moltzen off the bench because he can be the X factor coming off the bench and maybe turn the game late in halves when defences are tiring . At full strength we have many players who can play big minutes in the 2nd row or lock positions so if we get injuries in this position we probably can survive without another 2nd rower and some of out front rowers are mobile enough to play back row (Gibbs , Payten Fifita etc) . My reason of having Moltzen on bench though is more related to helping our attack if need be . Fulton could be used as a back up as well if want to go that way .

I agree with happy that sometimes an x factor player coming off the bench can make a difference.

I remember Fitzy coming on late in the game scoring a run away try from the lock forward position. He had fresh legs and he had speed.

Why put four forwards on the bench? The teams use of the third forward on the bench is pretty limited, so a fourth isn't going to help much.

Its a good scenario that we have players like Ellis, Heighno, Fulton, Dwyer & even Gibbs who can play 80 minutes, but it doesnt neccasary mean it is good for them or the team that they actually play 80 minutes. I wouldnt be suprised that this is currently contributing to the bad run of injuries we seem to be getting…

We are lucky to have some diehard players who are prepared to push themselves beyond the limits for the sake of the team and secure a win. But, I think Sheens & Gentle need to have a good hard look at what they are currently doing with the bench rotation as I dont think it is winning us games???

I'd prefer they didn't either Watto but do prefer having a back option on the bench (Moltzen ) and if we get a few injuries we know some of our players can play 80 if absolutely necessary . Would like to see Keefy play more game time though . Might be one of the issues with his origin non selection

Just on Fitzy, the continuos call team were calling a game in Wagga last saturday,Fitzy was the captain coach of one of the teams, the "Big Marn" said "Fitzhenry is the captain coach, but he doesn't look a class above these other blokes",I had to laugh.
