Best & Worst WT Signing Ever?

Not sure if this has been done before, but it's the off season….

Just wondering who people think is the best and worst signing the Wests Tigers have ever made from another team.

For mine, I can't go past Gareth Ellis for best. In my opinion he was one of the best backrowers to play in the NRL. Outstanding in attack and defence. Tough as they come. Great leader and a good bloke off the field.

Worst would probably be Nick Graham off the top of my head.

Best Scott Prince. Signing that won a premiership.

Worst? Geez that's a crowded field. Cayless, Nick Graham, Matt Seers come to mind. I've probably blanked out some others

Hard to say. Best hard to split Ellis, prince and hodgson

Worst depends how you look at it. Value for money hard to go past Blair. Moodie the second time round was horrible. Morris for ineffectivness. Moltzen resigning after reneging on saints.

Who could ever forget peter Lewis? Reserve grade prop from parramatta who came over and said he wanted to play origin, didn't even make it through pre season lol

Best Prince/Ellis
Worst,what a field Murphy,Lauder,NBQ,Lewis,Cayless,Runciman,Graham,Reynolds,
Harris,Iosefa,Pettybourne,Spence there are more but that is enough pain for one day.

The best is easily a dead heat between Hodgson and Prince. Without those two, we don't win a comp. Probably have to give Prince the edge there.

The worst, well how long do you have?

Nick Graham
Sam Harris
Jamal Lolesi
Jason Cayless
Eddy Pettybourne

Those are pretty much the greatest hits. I expect Anasta's name to get mentioned at some point, which will be BS, cos if you're talking about terrible signings, you're talking about guys who offered absolutely nothing, and contributed nothing. Anasta gets a hard time, but he did some okay things, including winning a game for us this yr in the dying moments with a field goal. That alone should make him exempt.

Also, I wouldn't include middle of the road players that weren't anything more than average first graders to begin with. Guys like Robert Miles, Corey Payne and Danny Galea would fit that mold.

People give it to Blair, yet in 3 yrs he's missed just 1 game, but that isn't important i guess. Compare him to Terry Hill, who at the time was just as high profile of a signing as Blair, if not higher, and would have been earning just as good money for that time. In 4 yrs he only managed 49 games. In 3 yrs, Blair has managed 71\. Yet people would throw out Blair's name before Hill as this clubs worst ever signing. Jesus.

and that one game was suspension, from memory

Considering just how injured and banged up our team has been the fact we have kept Blair on the field for 71 of 72 games is a bloody miracle.

blair is simply someone who does as well as the team. we were crap in 2012 and 13\. as was he. Once we picked up form, he started doing great.

I think it's to do with the way he plays the game. He does a lot of those 'extras' like kick pressure, quick play the balls etc. which are useless if you're down by 20 but amazing when you're in the middle of an arm wrestle with another team.
