Big name player in trouble

Look a lot of people seem to forget you need to get someone's permission to take photos of them or their businesses etc …......

That is a major misconception Happy, under privacy laws even in your own home in full view of a public place you can be photographed without permission from that public place _(i.e. the street)_, the exceptions are places and actions considered private, bathrooms, showers, toilets etc., the other exception is when it becomes stalking or a nuisance.

You can also be photographed from private property other than yours if the photographer has permission of the property owner or is the property owner, provided the position is normally in full view of what they are photographing (meaning it’s ok if they are doing it from their yard, window or balcony but not if they need to climb on a roof or ladder to take the photograph), the pool because it is not technically a public place would require permission from the appropriate authority being the land owner (normally the local council)

(According to _Victoria Park Racing and Recreation Grounds Co Ltd v Taylor_ (1937) there is no freedom from view, so people who are photographed on their property from a public location have no legal claim against you if what is captured in the photograph can be seen from the street, the same applies to private property provided you have the property owners permission.)

I was referring more to businesses PPM

Someone can't just walk up to your business and start taking pics

Things like copyright and protecting your recipes , ideas etc come into play

And your staff are also protected under privacy laws as well , protection of identity etc

The Roosters likely to set their own rules once again judging by Pearce's timely return…

How many key players have we lost for poor behaviour derailing our team development?

Mitchell Pearce video: Roosters skipper returns to Sydney after rehabilitation stint
\
\
The Sydney Roosters are considering taking legal action against those responsible for circulating the now-infamous video.

A fresh-faced Mitchell Pearce has told a press conference at Sydney airport of his "really challenging" four weeks in an overseas rehabilitation facility.

The disgraced Roosters captain said he had "totally humiliated" himself, referring to a video filmed at an Australia Day party of him simulating a sex act with a dog.

Pearce, who was without a phone or television during rehabilitiation, said "the hard work starts for me now."

"I'm a bit jetlagged but it's been a really challenging four weeks. It's something that I really needed to do and the hard work starts for me now.

"I've got a lot of people to earn respect back off and first and foremost I want to spend today with my family.

"I've been away for a long time. I also want to thank everyone who has given me support.

"I haven't had a phone or TV for four weeks, I've been in isolation, but I've seen a lot of text messages today that have meant the world to me."

"I'm not too sure [what the punishment will be]. I'm coming back here with a clear head and I've got a lot of people like I said to earn respect off. So whatever my punishment I'll be copping it on the chin."

Pearce was met by his parents Wayne and Terri as he arrived at Sydney airport on Sunday morning ahead of the media conference just after 9am.

The 26-year-old NSW Origin playmaker had been undergoing treatment in northern Thailand after admitting to alcohol problems in the wake of the video filmed at a private party.

The footage was sold to media outlets and Fairfax Media reported last week that the Roosters considering legal action over the breach of privacy.

Pearce was stood down by the Roosters after the incident, which followed a club-sanctioned harbour cruise on Australia Day, and he will face the club's board before it is decided when he can return to playing.

He is expected to be suspended for the opening six matches of the NRL season and fined $50,000.

Our mate Danny Weidler in today's Sun Herald states that his team mates completely support Mitch joining them, Danny states give him 6 weeks and hefty fine. Bit OTT I reckon, cut both those penalties by half would be more like it at the most.

He should be banished from the game for a while. Jake Friend spent time as a sandwhich hand following some dramas. Mitchell can become a dog walker for a few months.

He looked bright and healthy on return. Bob "everyone's mate" Hawkie probably did worse than that and he became PM. Like Bob did swear off the grog whilst playing pro foottie - that should do it.

Maybe if it was his first offence , but it's not his first offence

Fine pretty well spot on

But I want the NRL to tell him its his last chance , if he screws up again its adios amigos

No ifs , buts or maybe's about it

Leaving town as quickly as he could get a plane, the rehab thing has all been a very well planned operation by the chooks. Be an absolute joke if he gets a fifty grand fine and six weeks on the side line. It use to be Elliott Nest and the untouchables and is now Uncle Nick and the untouchables

I still think he should have his contract torn up.

Only six weeks on the sideline for an offence like that. I wonder how players feel when they off the sideline for that amount of time (six weeks) even though they have been well behaved for years?

Is that a typo or have you been calling him Elliott Nest your whole life?

Good pick up mate, it was one of my old man favorited sayings. After I typed in I remembered it should have been Ness (I think) but I figured there would not be a person old enough to remember the Untouchables on this forum!!!!

Well Tommy Raudonikis got 3 months for breaking a guy's jaw, Mitch maybe gets half of that - does not seem lenient.

How long did Les Boyd get for breaking Brohman's jaw? - 12 months. So based on your argument Pearce should be outed for 6 months.
