Why would St Helens release Barba 1 yr and possibly 2 years earlier than his contract when he is ripping the comp apart.

He might have a get out clause if offered an NRL contract with an indication it will be registered.

If its Barba then Tui will have ample time to claim the fullback spot of he's good enough. Barba will havebto serve out his suspension upon returning.

Served it at the back end of the last Super League season..signed by St Helens in July after his failed stint in French Rugby..it's why he is playing now..

ESL Clubs generally ask for huge transfer fees to release a player..

I agree, same for Carney. But, personally I dont have a problem having them as a short term prospect. I'm sick to death about planning for a few yers down the track.

Barba playing well would be exactly what we need.
As for the no DH policy I reckon 90% of Wests Tigers fans thought that of Josh Reynolds till he signed with us .
Russell Packer turned things around worth the risk if we are interested in winning instead of being nice guys.
